For months I did first thing in the morning and then again after 1pm. (but I only tested twice a day closer to when I thought I O'd) I guess I O'd early and somehow missed my surge last month so I am curious what the rest of you do? I think I am going to test twice a day during my entire cycle this month.

"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength."
I usually test around 11am-12pm sometimes a little later and then again around 5:30pm. It is best to try to hold your urine for 3-4 hours for the best results and try not to drink that much during the time you are waiting.
Without the lovely ladies on here, I wouldn't have known and would probably continue to miss my surge.
Unexplained secondary infertility...bleh. Gave it a few more tries and BFP on 3/31

My BFP Chart
I recommend you pick up a copy of Take Charge of Your Fertility - great education and it will explain a lot of the things going on with your body (and things we talk about) on this board - it was especially helpful for me coming off BC and beginning to chart as well.
With regards to your question - I go by my CM as an indicator of my impending fertile window - as it changes from watery to eggwhite, I start using OPK's 2x/day. That is just what works for me, some women who know they don't get much or any EWCM start as soon as it becomes more watery or even creamy. Just depends on the woman.

Oh I have read TCOYF- I just didn't think it addressed this! Thanks for the advice- going by CM is good advice- mine is just still wacky from the BC! Thanks though!
my cycle is so wacky too- Ive been on BC for 10 years and stopped in August-im not temping, but using the OPK - The digital Blue Clear Easy tests say to start testing on day 9 of your cycle when you have a cycle longer then 28 days (which i do) Hope this helps!
TTC #2
Oh thanks- that does help! Day 9 is early, but makes sense to keep testing. I have a ton of ICs but I haven't used any yet since we're not TTC or TTA...we're just "eh.." at this point...
I use FMU, noon, sometimes 5pm, and sometimes 10pm pee and have gotten positives at all those times as well as negatives. Just make sure your urine is held for 3-4 hours with no liquid intake in the last 2 hours before you test. And make sure you're consistent with the time you take your test at. Good luck.
Teacherjen (sorry about spelling it wrong), I also use CM as an indicator to double up or triple up on how many times to test during the day. Otherwise I test once a day leading up to it.
