Frustrated!!! tried 2 steam mops and they both suck!
How do you clean your hard floors?
We had the Shark steam mop and it was OK but didn't get hot enough to sterilize (like around the toilet area) so I used it for a quick wipe of the floors in between the full on mop & bucket routine.
Need something that works and not as labor intensive. Recs?

I have the Bissel Steam Mop. It was great until it quit working. Their customer service is crap. I'm still fighting them to get it replaced/repaired even though it is still covered under warranty.
I would have recommended it up until I had to deal with their customer service.
which shark mop do you have? we have this one and it works unbelievably well and gets super hot.

I tried a steam mop and didn't love it. I still found myself with the mop and bucket and on my hands and knees a lot b/c of the dried on gunk (thanks to DS, of course!)
Last Christmas,I got a Hoover Floormate Hardwood Cleaner with Spin Scrub and I have only done 1 hand and knee scrub all year. It really gets the dried on crud that DS drops from the high chair and it does use a cleaner, so I feel things are disinfected enough.
It isn't a steam mop, but it works better for us! (Oh, yeah, and it vacuums them, too, so I don't have to do two steps. )

i used to do links on here all the time that worked, and suddenly they don't anymore. you can look it up on amazon. i searched long and hard for a steam cleaner and this one was the best i could find.
Yup that's what we had for a year and it dies 3 weeks ago and have been trying others cause I never felt it cleaned super well... more like a wet sweep for inbetween mopping with a bucket... the floor only felt warm after cause more of steam escaped through the top than concentrating on the floor i think.
Eureka 313A Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer = FAIL... and it just saturated the floor too much with water and the pad didn't pick up dirt well
Haan FS20 Plus Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer with Deluxe Sanitizing Tray = FAIL... chord was way too short and also saturated the floor with luke warm water and pads didnt pick up much dirt.

Ditto this. I read a LOT and this came out on top. I love mine!
Me too. Read the reviews - it gets much hotter. I love it. Minimal work, no pumping, really great. It only dumps water on the floor if you dramatically overfill it (I overfill but not insanely). It only comes with two pads and they are apparently expensive although I haven't checked. The reviews are right...you really could use a sturdy dishtowel.
