Can't take much more from my boss!! (kinda long)

I work at a food stamp/medicaid office and we have strict policies and manuals that we go by to determine if people are eligible. It is A LOT of information to remember. I started in another office in January and I'm now in this office and the supervisor is a lot different. WELL she is so harsh about telling me what I'm doing wrong (which by her standards a lot of what I'm doing is wrong.) She never tells me I did something right and is just rude about it. I almost started crying one day (thank you pregnancy hormones for making it seem worse!) because I got so many cases back with things wrong.

I'm going to explode!!! I've made a sticky note list that's taped on my computer so I don't make the mistakes again and she finds new nit picky things that aren't really "wrong" they are just to her specifications. BLAH!!!!!

    I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I am, too. I have a former cop for a principal (this is his 2nd year) and right before our Christmas break, he wrote me up for something I didn't even do and put me under strict evaluation and observation for the next 4 months (I showed a film I've shown for years to prepare my kids for Romeo and Juliet, but he thinks films are a waste of time). I received no warning or chance to explain my case and even had to have a union rep in the meeting. You're better than I am...I DID cry. I've been there 10 years and have never had anything like this happen. I'm in the beginning of a grievance claim against him. Is there a way you could transfer to another office? I hope it gets better for you.

    I know how you feel. I've had a few bosses that are that way. My current boss can't make up her mind about some things. She tells you to do it one way, so when you do it that way next time, well then she wanted it the other way. What's even crazier about it, is that it's something doesn't really matter! There's no right or wrong way to do it... just whatever her preference is that week. Sometimes I want to tell her that if she can't decide which way she wants it, maybe she should do it herself, since whichever way I do it this particular week is the opposite of what she was thinking. Or maybe I could ask her how she wants it if she would answer her phone, and not pretend that it wasn't working all day. *eye roll*

    I hate that anyone's boss acts like this b/c it makes me not want to be here!!! I could transfer offices but my drive would go from 2mins (literally) to 30 mins or 1 hr depending on which office I transferred to. PLUS jobs opening in the 30 min away job are few and far between AND you have to stay in one position for 6 months before you can transfer in my state BOOO! On a positive note I'm hoping to get a teaching job so I don't have to do this job much longer. I really hope I will get an interview in the spring or summer so I can do what I went to school for FINALLY! GL to both of you on keeping your cool and sanity with your bosses!
