Parenting after a Loss

My BM production has dropped :(

I used to be such a big producer but not any more. I've been working two part time jobs. One is ass early in the morning and the other gets me home around midnight. Both of these jobs leave no room for pumping so it becomes about 8 hours or more between pump sessions and now my supply is pitiful.  When I do have a day off, I'm pumping every 4 hours but I'm getting less than half of what I used to. I'm afraid to take anything to increase my supply since I don't have the time to pump.

I have been making my way through my freezer stash a lot faster than I wanted. I will probably be all out in about a month. I'm sad. :(

  • That's a bummer! If you want to keep nursing, could Amelia take formula during the day and then you just nurse her at night? So that you could continue having that time together to breastfeed.

  • I'm mostly EPing at this point. I only nurse her once in awhile. Basically wen she is willing (we always had our nursing issues). I will probably have to introduce formula in a month or so if I run out of BM. We have to get a brand that is soy and dairy free so that will be fun. I will just be crossing my fingers that I get a fulltime job again soon where I can take the pump breaks and work normal hours again.

  • I'm so sorry Jacquie! It's totally depressing when that happens. But you know what? Be proud of yourself for making it as far as you did, girl! And definitely just try to keep nursing when you can, but don't be surprised if you dry up altogether. I was able to nurse in the morning for about 2 weeks before I decided to quit altogether.

Thanks Loves! I am lucky that I have been able to do it this long. :)

  • Oh JQ...I know how hard and upsetting supply issues are. You've done a great job and have done so much for A. She is lucky to have such a good mama. I'll keep sending the job vibes your way. ::hugs::
