Oliver +s Sailboat Pants Sewalong in January, Who's In?

*wiggles eyebrows*

We'll cover making the pants, step by step.  It would great project for all you new sewing machine owners out there!  We'll cover cutting out the pattern, transfering marks, interfacing, facings, button holes and hems.  And we'll help each other out.  I have made 2 pairs of these pants for Korra, will be making a pair for Saxton before the sewalong, and will also be making a pair for Crackerjack's kiddos during the sewalong.

Oliver +s Sailboat pants are versatile for both boys and girls!

You canget the pattern with free shipping from HERE.  And April ships true to her Monday/Tuesday schedule.

So, who is in????

  • just bought the pattern (have been meaning to do so for awhile) so i am IN!
  • Can I pick another pattern to sew along on?  I don't think those pants will work on S quite yet, but I've been wanting to make her a dress or something following a pattern.

it goes as small as 6 months.  If you want, the skirt is in the same pattern and follows the same steps we'll be covering (other than sewing the legs together).

Can I ask why you think the pattern won't work right now?

I just don't like putting her in structured bottoms.  We do better with knits.  I guess I could try it in a heavier knit... I've just only worked with wovens before.  Knits intimidate me.

Would you consider a stretchy woven?  Something like a cotton/spandex blend?
