Hello ladies... I have been TTC since April after removing the Mirena. I noticed that I was having burning sensations on my sides and my periods came farther and farther apart. Long story short, I've been diagnosed with PCOS and am getting ready to begin my first regimen of Prometrium, Estradiol, and Clomid. I can't remember which one I am supposed to take first and for how long to bring on my period...have since called the nurse...waiitng on return call.Has anyone else had a similar PCOS situation? What was the outcome and what can I expect? Thanks!

PCOS and Endo
Ovarian drilling and endo removed 1/3/12
BFP - 3/27/12
Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.
I also have PCOS. The Prometrium is to bring on your period. I believe the normal dosage for it is 200mg for 10 days. It can take up to 14 days after your last pill for AF to start.
Have you had all of your initial testing done (cd3 b/w, HSG, SA for your DH)? It's important to do all of this before starting fertility meds because if there is an issue (such as a blocked tube) the meds will not help & some (like Clomid) have a maximum number of times they can be taken. Also, please make sure you will be monitored while taking Clomid. It can thin your lining & cause cysts.
Married 1/2/99.
TTC since 4/09.
Diagnosed PCOS. Diagnosed Hypothryoid 11/09.
SHG & SA normal. PCOS Research study started 5/10.
Clomid/Femara cycle #1 - 6/10 = BFN
Clomid/Femara cycle #2 - 7/10 = BFP #1 - Missed miscarriage 9/2/10
11/12 - BFP #2 - 11/22 - m/c
5/1/11 - BFP #3 - Pre-eclampsia, IUGR & bed rest from 32w. DD born via induction 1/4/12.
I also have PCOS but I am on a different cocktail of meds than you. I know the Prometrium is to bring on your period and as PP said it can take up to 2 weeks after the last pill to actually start your cycle. I go through an RE, like most ladies on this board. The RE monitors you very closely and is able to adjust meds accordingly because of the monitoring. It's very important that you are not just given meds and left on your own. I don't take Clomid, I take Femara which is used for the same purpose. I have heard from many others though that Clomid can have some crazy side effects so just beware of those.
I wish you the best of luck! I was able to concieve on my 2nd cycle with an RE but unfortunately suffered a late loss. We are cycling again now and hoping for results soon. So, it's very possible to have luck with PCOS.
