Just bought "Adoption for Dummies"

I'm so excited! But I'm sitting here at work dying because I really want to be reading it instead of working!! I'm hoping to read up and be ready to start the process once DH decides he's ready. Just wanted to share my excitement!!!

I hope everyone is having a great week. I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday!

    Congrats! I loved it. I read it cover to cover, but have only managed to get DH to read the first 4 chapters (he hates to read).

    I tried to buy this - twice!!

    It came highly recommended - thanks Dr.L ;)

    So I went to my local Waldenbooks - but I live in timbuckto, nj and they did not have it.

    i figured for SURE the large B&N that is an hour drive away would have it - nope.  So I bought the "Idoits Guide to Adoption"  it is fine - but I will always wonder what the "dummies" book is all about :(

    I guess I could buy it on-line

    I almost had to buy the "Idiots Guide to Adoption" too! I couldn't find AFD but found that one and carried it around for a few minutes. Then I decided to look one more time and I found it in the Teen section. ( I'm assuming it was stuck there on accident). I'm so glad I looked again because I've heard so many great things about it. I can't wait to get started reading it! I'm hoping to get DH to read it as well and maybe it will calm some of his fears.

    IMO it will definitely calm some of his fears. My DH had all the typical fears of someone contemplating adoption, and he's already feeling better about the whole thing.

    The ladies on this board also recommend The Complete Idiot's Guide to Adoption. Maybe that should be on my Christmas list ;)

    I ordered my copy through Amazon.com for $6 and it came in the mail yesterday.  I read 40 pages last night and cannot wait to read more tonight!!

    I just ordered Adoption for Dummies and Idiots guide to Adoption on Amazon. I searched for both books at Borders and Barnes and Noble in my area. Not one store had either book. I can't wait to recieve them in the mail.

    It's pathetic how few adoption books are in the brick and mortar stores. It makes me sad, to be honest.

    But check out your local library in November! It's adoption awareness month, and my library had a HUGE spread last year.

    Adoption for Dummies was by my bed for MONTHS until Lily came home:)  It's a great read, you'll love it!
