Trying to Get Pregnant

considering scheduling an iui tomorrow

This was supposed to just be a testing month, but then I couldn't go in for the tests because of a trial.  I haven't charted, cbefm'd, gone to acupuncture (she is away) or anything.  But today I read a post and then counted the days ... and peed.  Hello LH surge. The midwives would think nothing of me scheduling for tomorrow and part of me wants to.  I would be one month closer to starting ivf, and since I didn't do the acupuncture, it would be my cheapest cycle ever.I will talk to my wife tonight, but any thoughts?

Re: considering scheduling an iui tomorrow

  • If you already have the sperm and it wouldn't be a big deal to schedule, do it! :) Are you positive you haven't ovulated yet?

  • Will doing it tomorrow have any effect on your sperm supply for IVF?

    I say go for it...

  • See what your wife thinks and if she's on board, go for it!

I wish you all the best with whatever you both decide.

P.S. I didn't get a chance to comment earlier but your wedding pics were absolutely amazing.

Ditto Sulf. Could you maybe ask for an u/s or b/w to confirm you haven't ovulated yet?

I agree! I'd definitely ask for b/w to confirm that you haven't O'd yet.

There will not be u/s or blood work available.  My inseminations thus far have been done by the midwives at the Insemination Center of Greater Boston ad they don't do monitoring tests.  The testing and inseminations to come would/will be with the docs at Boston IVF - all the testing in the world will be available there.  That is a big reason to wait.  Course, the monitoring will be $600 a month, and the insemination will cost double, and that is a reason to do one last iui with the midwives.

    I can't decide.

  • I don't have an answer, but wanted to say good luck! Hopefully your wife will help with the decision :)

  • I would definitely go for it.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

  • If it were me, I'd probably take an OPK tomorrow and if it's still +, I'd go for it. If you end up not trying this cycle, would you feel bad about it? If so, definitely do it! Whatever you decide, good luck!!

  • Why the hell not? I know if it were me, I'd be kicking myself wondering if this was the cycle that could've been "it".

What Boston IVF location are you working with?
