I think I just experienced one of my greatest parenting fears. I woke up to feed Ds and he couldn't breathe. It sounded like maybe he had somehow swallowed something and it was blocking his airway. He wanted to cry but he couldn't. I immediately woke up H and called an ambulance. We spent 4 hours in the ER. He has croup with strider. The croup is causing his trachea to swell making it hard to breathe. He's on steroids and got oxygen at the hospital so he should be fine now. I'm exhausted but can't go to sleep. I'm too worried about him ![]()
Add that to the fact that my phone broke earlier and this is not a good day.

Thank goodness you woke up to feed him!! Breathing issues are scary. We've had some close calls like that as well. This is the season for breathing issues to flare up. Watch for these episodes, since it might happen again (not to scare you). The first time DS had one they diagnosed it as Brochiolitis, but it really was a bad asthma attack. PM me if you want to talk because we've been there recently.
Those steroids work wonders. I'm sure he'll be better soon. Is it prednisolone?
oh what a nightmare! I'm glad that he's getting treatment and that you woke in time.
try to get some rest.

How scary!
So glad he's doing better, but I totally understand how you don't want to go to sleep.
