ok is this heartburn or reflux or what?

I'm so confused! I have this pretty constant maybe burning/cooling sensation in the bottom/back of my throat. It's right when my clavical bone is.

From everything I hear about heartburn, this is not that.

I have never felt it not pregnant. It's pretty constant, it makes me not want to eat anything and it doesn't matter what I do eat when I do. It's always there. Last night it kept me up for hours.

what the heck is this and what do I talk? FWIW I'm really a weiny when it comes to taking yucky medicine, so if I can take a gel coated pill, that would be amazing.

Sounds like reflux. You can take regular strength Zantac. It's just a small pill, but not gel coated. Also, a lot of people say that drinking a glass of milk helps. I'm lactose intolerant, so I have no idea if that's true.

Yep, reflux. Talk to your dr, but Zantac is what I take.

for sure reflux! I got a prescription for pepcid from my doc and it totally worked!!! GL!! hope it goes away for you!

Yup reflux! I hate it! Its even worse when you try to lay down because the acid runs up your esophagus. I went and got Zantac last week and take it first thing in the morning. Have not had it since!

I have been experiencing this along with pretty bad heartburn. I have found just taking a rolaids helps quite a bit.

Sarah I am experiencing the exact same thing and it's been torturing me for days. I don't want to eat either! I am definitely going to get some Zantac and hope it works. I told my DH that the Fires of Mordor are raging in my throat.

Right? It sucks!! I just choked down a tums, and I mean choked, I tried to chew it and gagged and so my mom crushed it up and mixed it with water and I was still gagging. I'm such a baby! I'm totally getting mom to buy me some pills tomorrow!

This is just awful! BOO!!! Hope you feel better soon!!

Prevacid works for me. I tried pepcid and it didnt work as well as the prevacid.

I use the tums smoothies in mint flavor. Barely any chalky feeling and instant relief.

Mine started out with that burning/cooling sensation and I didn't think anything of it until last week when it got worse! I've been taking Zantac but with all the Christmas foods even that doesn't seem to help. In addition to the Zantac (which really is tiny) I've been chewing on mint candies to help my throat feel better. I was told water can make it worse, but since I had kidney stones last month I've been forced to increase my water intake. Ugh! My OB told me that if I don't do anything about it (acid reflux) that it can cause permanent damage so more to worry about there. Hope the pills work for you.

Yup sounds like reflux to me too. I agree with the Zantac! It was definitely the most effective and easiest thing for me to take when I was pregnant. Smile

Reflex for sure! I get this same thing, and it is mixing with heartburn now... I am miserable with it. Talk to you doc!!!
