Christmas fail

As is the tradition in Germany and Austria (where DH and I are from), we were planning to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, at 5 pm. We both had the day off work and had a really nice day planned - going to the zoo in the morning and then Christmas celebration in the afternoon. Well, that didn't happen - I had the worst stomach flu you can imagine. Seriously so sick that I couldn't stand upright and had to lie down all day, and passed out all the time. So DH took Sarah to the playground and we said we'd do Christmas today in the morning. Today I am better but now Sarah is so sick. Poor baby, she threw up and didn't want to eat or drink anything, and only wanted to be held. I totally understand - if she feels like I did yesterday, it must be terrifying for her. So no Christmas today either - all she wanted was to go back to bed. She is now resting and hopefully will sleep it off soon. Poor baby!

Thanks, Robyn!!! I am doing much better but Sarah is still so sick. She just woke up from her nap and just cried. All she wanted to do was be held a little and then to go back to bed. I just hope she'll be able to go back to sleep and sleep it all off.

Ugh, that's the WORST! And it lasts so much longer in babies than adults (sorry to say). Big hugs and hope you all feel better soon!

How awful for you both! I am so sorry! My younger sister was ill late yesterday and today with something that sounds like that, I can't imagine what it must be like for a toddler!

I hope she feels better tomorrow, so maybe you can have a belated Christmas after all!

What is it with being sick and the holidays?????

My BIL is here visiting and he, my DH and I all have, um, nasty gastro-intestinal issues yesterday afternoon and evening. He even threw up, but felt much better afterwards. Can't say the same for me and DH!

Pretty sure it was either the Starbucks we had in the afternoon, or the cream I used in the coffee and scallopped potatoes. (Athough it smells okay), or the egg casserole we had for breakfast. Who knows! But my family has a history of giving each other the flu or food poisoning for major holidays! HA!

Thanks for all your kind wishes! Sarah is so much better today although eating is still a challenge, but much happier and was able to check out some of her gifts. The rest we'll do after her nap, when her grandpa is here from Austria. I am completely well again, it lasted just one day for me.
