Elimination diet help

I know dairy is a huge no-no for dd. I need to do the diet though and figure out what the other food is though that's bothering her. She still has mucous and foul smelling diapers. Best way to do this?

Re: Elimination diet help

  • I don't know what others do. But when we realized when J. was 8 weeks that he had weight gain issues and was a massive spitter upper, I cut out all dairy, wheat, tomatoes, soy, beef, and caffeine as advised by J.'s doctor. FWIW, I had suspected a milk protein intolerance and cut out all diary 2 weeks prior.

I have slowly added things back in. I seem to be able to have soy, and some of the rest except for dairy. Dairy is a no-go!

  • Dairy is a huge problem with us.  She has some awful diapers and a lot of gas.  She used to spit up a lot as well.  Without the dairy she still has some mucous in every poopy diaper and they still smell weird.  DS had mucous but his diapers still smelled and looked like mustard.  I don't do dairy well either but I deal with it because I love cheese and ice cream.  I seriously wish there was a non-dairy feta out there.  I could totally go for a greek salad everyday with that on there if it tasted good.
  • If dairy bothers her, it's quite likely that soy bothers her.  I just realized that soy bothers my DS more than dairy does!
