Multiples

Someone take me behind the shed...

And shoot me please! :( I know I'm being whiney, but all of you have been there, are there, or soon will be here. I am SO miserable!!! And I feel like a horrible mommy right now cuz I physically can't even keep up with DD. All I do is sit on the couch and yell no when she starts getting into stuff she shouldn't. Diaper changes require 10 minutes of mental preparation just to talk myself into moving. I can't eat, can't sleep, constant cramping, hemmorhoids from hell, pressure so intense it feels like they could just fall out when I stand up, yadda, yadda, yadda. Is it wrong of me to be trying to induce labor already? I know these babies should bake a little longer, but I'm SO over this. Words of encouragement would be most appreciated from you veteran MoMs right now! :)

  • Yup, being pregnant with multiples when you already have a toddler is definitely no walk in the park (to put it mildly).  But, you're in the home stretch!!  Just keep reminding yourself how wonderful it is that you've made it this far and have big, healthy babies cookin'.  Take it easy on yourself when you don't have the energy to be the "perfect" toddler mom right now.  And if neither of those work... just remember that soon you'll be caring for a toddler AND two newborns and will sometimes wish you were still able to sit on the couch for just 5 minutes : D

  • find a mother's helper! Esp this week- kids are out of school- there's got to be a young teen who would love to make $5/hour to play with your DD. My niece used to do it for me all the time- just to keep Griffin busy.

you have just a couple more weeks- and trust me- you want them inside and not in the NICU - you are SOO close!

  • I have no idea what it's like to be pg with multiples when you already have a toddler since my twins are my first babies. However, I vividly remember how much it flat out SUCKED towards the end of my pregnancy with them. I was exhausted, in pain and uncomfortable and just plain miserable. I felt like I would be pg forever. It probably means nothing but hang in there! The end is near!

this!!  hire a teen to help with your LO.  I feel for you.  You have done a great job getting to 35 weeks.  you need to sit down (on a blow up donut thingy) and put your feet up.  Have someone help you with your DD.  GL and Hang in there! Yes

  • Right there with you.  I can hardly stand it anymore and even though I want them to stay put for the next 2 weeks, I secretly wish that I would go into labor soon.  I just keep reminding myself that I want them to be with me from the time they are born and not have to go to the NICU.  We are almost there.

This x1000, I don't even have a toddler but can honestly say that the sleep deprivation in the first oh, 3 months far outweighed any uncomfortableness I was in during the 'home stretch'. Hang in there though!! :)

This definitely! find someone, anyone!  I know that when N was out of daycare, on the weekends, he would think it was funny to jump on my belly or kick me in the belly, I wasn't a happy camper and as much as I tried not too, sometimes my frustration went out on him....poor kid.  You are SO close, you can do it!  You definitely want those babies in you as much as possibole, they are thriving and not to mention, keeping warm with all this nasty weather outside..... brrrr!

  • I absolutely agree with the suggestion to find a mother's helper now.  I haven't been in your shoes, but am embarking on the reversed scenario.  The idea of chasing twin toddlers with a huge belly (as you certainly have had for awhile already) sounds brutal.  GL!  Congrats on making it so far already.
