Trying to Get Pregnant

Is this rude? Not related to TTC

I got UV Gel tips put on on Monday and a Brazilian bikini wax to spice things up for this cycles fertile window.  I hadn't had tips on since being in a friends wedding last February.  One already broke off and the rest are chipping.  I love this nail place b/c they are the only ones who do a good Brazilian.  I don't want icky nails for New Year's as this might be my last crazy party it up at the Jersey Shore (fingers crossed).

Is it rude to call today and ask them to take them off and for a refund or a really nice mani pedi?  They cost $85 which was a big splurge this time of year for us!  Any ideas?

PS. We are still snowed in here.  The town has plowed the roads but the super hasn't plowed out parking lot... so this might have to wait until tomorrow.  Thank goodness for winter break, one of the bonuses of teaching!

  • I don't think it is rude at all.  I would definitely give them a call.  It is ridiculous that they are already breaking after paying $85 to get them done!  I'd be pi$$ed too!!!

  • Definitely call.  Gel tips, when cared for properly (i.e. you're not digging ditches with your hands) should not be chipping that quickly - you should have gotten at least a couple of weeks out of them.

I wouldn't hesitate to call, they owe you reimbursement or a do-over for sure.

    Good luck!

Definitely!  Any reputable business would gladly do them over to keep you as a customer.  I just hope they last longer this time!  (Ask for a different nail tech, for sure!)

  • Not rude at all. I'd call.

  • I would absolutely call. That sounds like a bad nail job.

  • This actually happened to me with a no-chip manicure.

I called them and told them what happened, and they re-did it for no charge.  It's not a "cheap" manicure by any means, and you shouldn't have to keep it just because you want to be nice.  It's all in the way that you approach them!  GL!
