I'm pregnant with my third baby. I'm really wanting to have an at home water birth but I have no idea who to contact. Have any of you done this? Any and all imput welcome.
I don't have anyone in the area to reccomend but I have two friends who did it with their last babies and are repeating it with the next one (one is pg again!). So no advice, but I know they swear it was the best way they did it! (both also have children they delivered other ways).
good luck! I know there are plenty of women who have used midwives and water births have been mentioned so hopefully someone can help you.
I have several friends who have used the midwife at https://www.houstonbirthcenter.com/index.htm and I believe they do home births as well as births at their birthing center. Everyone who has used them seemed to have a good experience. We have some concerns about birth due to family history so we are using the midwives at St. Lukes so I can have midwives+hospital in case of any issues or we would have looked into the birth center route.
Oh how wonderful! I highly recommend taking a look at the GHMA to find out who is close to you - once you know that, let me know and I can give you personal recommendations from that list.
Nanci Stanley would be the closest to me according to the map. I live in Cypress. I love my OB but I think I would really enjoy the experience of an at home water birth. Thank you ladies for your help!
There is a new birth center in Katy called Katy Birth Center. There is also one in North Houston called Nativiti, which I have heard great things from too.
There are some great ones, beyond Nanci, in your area, including:
Chris Duffy
Patricia Jones
Cathy Rude
Carol Schumacher
Natalie Wommack
Pat is awesome, Carol and Chris are great too. The others I haven't met personally, but know, from others testimonials, I haven't heard of anything to frown on.
