Any Chevy Suburban Driving MoMs?

We bought an Odyssey when #3 was born and DH has always hated it. I have always wanted a Suburban but talked myself out of it when we bought the mini-van.

If you have one, can you share your experience with it?

TIA!

Re: Any Chevy Suburban Driving MoMs?

  • I just bought the Chevy Tahoe...and I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best vehicle decision I've ever made.  The Suburban is exactly the same vehicle, it is just 18" longer.  I have had Jeeps in the past, and most recently an X5 by BMW.

In 5-10 yrs after I feel I need a new vehicle, it will be a Chevy all over again.  I can't say enough good things about my new truck.  (I have a 12 yr. old son, along with our twins...and I made sure to get the "captain" style chairs in the backseat...--not a bench).  It's so nice and easy to pass thru to the 3rd row.

  • We are buying one in the near future, we have a Pathfinder that I love, but we just need more room. We considered a van, but we weren't gaining anything by it since we have a 3rd row already. My IL's have a '98 Suburban that is still going strong, that was what really sold me. And I agree with the PP, the captain chairs are the way to go!

  • Thanks for the input.  The items on our list include the captains chairs, DVD and Nav.  We are going to look at one tomorrow - woo hoo!

  • I absolutely love mine. It was the only vehicle that had enough storage space since my kids were all three in pack n' plays, used boosters to eat, and rode in strollers when the twins first came along. Going anywhere for us requires taking along a ton of gear. I am planning to stick with it for the duration because I figure once they all get older and start doing extracurricular activities we will have just as much gear all over again! I also got the captains chairs and am really pleased that we did. Rhett is able to crawl into his own seat now in the 3rd row and while I still have to buckle him in it is awesome that he just crawls up into the front seat on his own and makes his way straight back to his seat.
