AW thinking of getting shape up shoes

Does anyone have any pros or cons with this shoe? I have done some research and found the champion shoes were the best...and I figure if I get pregnant any time soon, it will help with back pain, and if I walk like I plan to, it should help with that too. yay or nay? lol

Just lurking here.. just thought I'd throw in my experience.

I bought the Reebok easytones before I got pregnant and I loved them for the gym- they are really comfortable. But they are no miracle shoe, if you aren't going to be working out in them regularly, I don't see the point.. I don't think they do much if you just wear them as everyday shoes, to run to the grocery store or take a stroll through the mall.

As for pregnancy, they actually made my back hurt like hell. I stopped wearing them at about 18 weeks because just wearing them out and about to grab something at the store was about bringing me to tears. Bottom line: buy them if you plan on working your buns off at the gym in them or if you find them comfy but don't expect much Hope this helps.

i just got the rebook shape ups for christmas- so i cant really give you my experience yet, but im super excited to try them out- I tried them on and they feel comfortable- I figure if they dont really work the way they say, theyre still a good sneaker (which i needed new ones anyway) and it'll inspire me to walk my dog more often,,,,

the pamphlet that comes with them even says

"Easy Toneshoes work to improve muscle activation as an additional percentage over what you would normally achieve from traditional foam based shoes, so the more steps you take, the more benefits you receive"

so its not a miracle shoe- but i dont see why it cant help if you're working out anyway-

I got a pair of easytones for Christmas, I haven't had a chance to use them yet...I want a butt like the girl in the commercial Big Smile

I have them and now done wear them. Got them as a present for christmas last year. I wore them for two months. I work out quite a bit so I could not tell if they worked or not.

I know a few people that broke there ankles with the shape up shoes. People losing there balance on them or heck they might have been drinking.

Waste of money! No pill or shoe will make you lose wait or shape up. Just have to excercise and eat right!!

I talked to a couple of people who have them & everyone said the same thing - "they make my _______ (back, knees, hips, feet) hurt", so I'm not getting them

I've had mine ever since they came out. Not going to lie, they don't do anything for me and not to mention... they're ugly. My friends make fun of me when i wear them. haha

Don't waste your money! There is no magic shoe and for the many reasons listed above, backaches, broken ankles, etc.

My sister is a Podiatrist and she does not recommend them. In fact, when they were in the testing phase before release, she was mailed a pair to try and wore them once and said they were hazardous.

I just bought some today with a gift card. I have heard great things about how comfortable they are from my friends, but I don't know about the toning claims yet.

I have several friends and coworkers who have the Shape Ups and love them, and say they have helped tremendously with back pain. Sketchers now has the tone ups too, and I don't know what the difference is!
