We all talk about what WE do - drink green tea, POM juice, temp, OPK, etc. but is there anything our husband's should be doing? Avoid drinking entirely during the fertile week, eat anything in particular? Just curious....
Sperm takes about 3 months to mature from when it's produced - avoiding drinking the week you're fertile with affect the sperm that comes out 3 months from now.
If your DH has no known sperm issues, I wouldn't worry about anything.
I'm not sure there is much you can do without knowing if you need to do anything at all. Some women suggest EOD sex to help the sperm replenish. No lap top on his lap, cut down on drinking, etc.

MH had a little below average sperm count but nothing to be concerned about that doctor said, but the cycle we got our BFP we both were taking POM supplements. It's suppose to help with male fertility? I'm not sure if that's what worked for us or if we just had good timing but it's worth a shot.
At least I knew he was putting something healthy into his body
Really the same stuff that is recommended for chicks: eat well, exercise, alcohol in moderation, etc. Do this now to help sperm produced weeks later. Making changes in the fertile window (AFAICT) don't do much for that cycle?
Yes, I have read that pom juice is good for men's fertility too.

Avoid hot tubs ... although my MIL snitched on my DH and told me he'd been in the hot tub on the 23rd before I got there. He halfheartedly listens to the DR. b/c he is one... I have to give him his vitamins like a child!
Healthy eating is good all around not just during TTC.
POM is actually known more for male fertility than female. It can help increase sperm count and improve motility and morphology. Granted if your DH has major issues then it's not a miracle but for minor issues it helps. DH and I both drink a LOT of POM.
PSA: If you're a costco member you can get 60oz POM juice for $7.99 right now on sale. We got 2 while we were there today.

Thank you! I will definitely go look for that.
Overall, nutritents that are good for sperm include Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. The link that jefa posted was a good food source of those nutrients.
My doc said that men's health is just as important so no excessive drinking, no smoking, good diet, no trans fat, good excercise, vitamins. Basically she said, whatever I do, he should be doing, too.
Maybe she was just trying to help me out, ya know.. So I'm not the only one making sacrifices LOL
a basic multivitamin for men, and then this past cycle I got him to start taking an extra 500 mg of vitamin C (which has been shown to increase count and improve motility).....we'll see it the C worked in another week!
