I went last week and didn't really fully enjoy the experience w/ my fiance and best friend. The tech who seen me didn't introduce me to who she was. It was basically 45-60 minutes of silence between us besides her telling me here's the head, hands, legs etc and then all of sudden she just said 'seems like a girl" to me. We are a little shock as she didn't point out how she saw that and then it was over and she left. I want to have another ultrasound as I heard some places have two techs to confirm everything but I know insurances only cover 1 ultrasound unless there's complication.
I want to know if anyone been here and see what your experience was like and if I could possibly ask for another ultrasound to confirm everything is okay with the baby.
Re: Anyone been to Boston Ultrasound Consultant?
I have had three ultrasounds there and each of my techs has been fairly friendly/talkative (two women, one man). Maybe you got a bad one? My last appointment was my ananotomy scan. I spent maybe a half hour with the tech who told us what we were looking at with each measurement and then a doctor came in and spent like 10 minutes confirming everything, including the gender. I think it's weird if you didn't see a doctor at all, each time I have been a doctor has come in at the end, even if it's for just a few minutes.
The only thing that annoys me about this place is that unless you have an appointment first thing in the morning, you can wait a long time to be seen. I had an appointment in the middle of the day for my first two and each time I had to wait almost an hour. My last appointment was at 8:20 and I was the first person there and seen within 5 mins of arriving.
Tessie,
Unfortunitly most ultrasounds are like that =(. You could do a 3D ultrasound. I went with my friend recently (because the ultrasound tech couldnt tell her the sex and didnt want to even try more than 5 seconds) We went to a place in Hanover called A New Conception ultrasound studio and the tech was AWESOME! She told my GF everything we were seeing and confirmed her baby's sex too. They have a really nice place and very reasonably priced. I just scheduled mine for a ultimate treasure package That is their special for January. . I will get a DVD of the whole ultrasound, a CD with about 50 or so pictures on it and internet streaming so I can e-mail it to my frineds and family to watch the whole thing. My GF posted the link on her Facebook.. SO FUN! Oh, also get pictures too. The ultrasound room was huge with big screen Tv's and a large pink wrap around sofa, I am bringing 8 people.. LOLOL Kim, the sonographer said that was fine! I am SOO excited. It is SO worth it! Also, they are really less expensive then any places I have seen around for what you get!! Hope this helps, you should try A New Conception in Hanover

I'm also late to the thread, but I wanted to share my experiences there. I've been there three times. The first time was an emergency ultrasound at 6 weeks. I had a male doctor, don't know his name, but I loved him. Of course he delivered the news that my baby was healthy, so that may have had something to do with it. He was very nice and encouraging.
The second time was for my NT scan at 12 weeks. I had a female technician who was very nice and friendly and explained everything she was looking at and answered all of our questions. I really liked her. I didn't see a doctor that time but the technician showed all of the measurements to the doctor to confirm.
The third time was at 18 weeks for our anatomy scan. I had the same female techinician as my second appointment and she just as nice, helpful, and talkative this time. She even remembered us, as the baby was very non-cooperative at the last appointment. After she was done, she had a female doctor come in and she repeated a lot of the measurements. I didn't get a warm and fuzzy vibe from the doctor at all and she wasn't great about pointing things out as she went, though she did summarize everything at the end. She also peformed a vaginal ultrasound as she saw something on my cervix that she wanted to look at in more detail. So she was very thorough, but not super friendly. I guess it really depends on which technicians/doctors you get.
