Trying to Get Pregnant

Planning and TTC

How do you balance planning on TTC? DH and I want to plan a vacation but we're TTC starting in April. I'm a little lost at how to go about planning a vacation with the uncertainty of pregnancy.

Advice? TIA!

Re: Planning and TTC

  • Don't make plans around a phantom pregnancy. Live your life and if you get pregnant, then adjust accordingly.

  • I don't plan my life around a possibility.  I go on like normal and when I get KU I'll be excited and only then will I worry about how that will impact my vacation/family wedding/fill in the blank.

If my "plan" went how I wanted it I'd be due with a baby in about 4 months.  Just like the saying--We plan and God laughs.

  • Travel insurance and just a general sense of flexibility. Unless you magically know when you are going to concieve and therefore when you are going to be pregnant, you really have two options, 1) put your life on hold 2) live your life normally and be flexible if you have to adjust your plans.

  • Live and plan for NOT being pregnant.

If you do get pregnant, you will not mind making the minor adjustment of not drinking.  But if you skip vacations hoping you will get pregnant but you don't, you will think of the fun you could have been having, mope, and become very negative about how long it feels like it is taking to get pregnant.

Remember: it often takes a healthy couple a year to get pregnant.
