My DH thinks I'm crazy because I keep smelling and tasting things that he can't. I smell and taste mold a lot and my sense of smell has definitely been on the rise. On top of that I get weird nausea spells too. I don't ovulate on my own and haven't for about 5 years now, so I really have no idea what to expect when/if I do ovulate. Could these been any indication of O'ing? I'm suppose to tomorrow.

Re: Signs of Ovulation?
I haven't heard of those signs being anything related to ovulation. And what do you mean you "taste" mold? You lick it? B/c that's gross! And will probably make you sick.
If you want to know if you ovulate or not, chart on fertility friend. You can get there by clicking on my ticker.
No I am not intentionally eating mold! Haha. Just regular meals that the whole family is eating at the same time..It tastes moldy to me and no one else notices it. I charted on FF for 5 months, but I haven't been keeping it updated. I just started temping again a few days ago to get back into habit. I'm getting b/w done next week to check progesterone levels, so we'll see.
This.
Mold detection is NOT an ovulation sign.
So glad to hear this!
I don't think that mold is an indicator of ovulation. I've just heard that heightened senses can be a sign and my senses have been going crazy.
I've heard of that for pregnancy, not for ovulation.

You're not crazy! I had a similar experience a couple weeks ago when I think I was about to ovulate. I just started charting last week (odd timing, I know, but I figured I'd start right away to get the hang of it before starting a new cycle) so for this cycle I'm not sure exactly when it happened. I was SUPER sensitive to smells and no one else around had any idea what I was talking about. The mold thing, I know what you mean because I feel the same way in general with certain foods ... carrots = almost always, apples = from time to time. They aren't moldy or rotten, they just have this scent and taste that is moldy, like a musty basement smell.
I have found several sites that list heightened sense of smell a possible symptom of ovulation, but as far as timing is concerned you're probably better off relying on charting temps and CM.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone! I was eating a fruit salad (heavenly fruit salad w/ cool whip) last night and it all tasted moldy. I normally love it and everyone else ate a ton, but I couldn't! I've been temping this week and doing OPK's. Nothing yet..hopefully tomorrow though!
If you read the other posts I said "I am not eating moldy food". I'm the only one tasting mold in the food. The rest of the fam thinks it tastes perfectly normal
That's why I was confused. How can you taste mold if there isn't any?
I'm not sure..I'm pretty confused myself! I'm just going to call it phantom I guess.
Haha! I'm thinking that might be a good thing to add
I had a cold 2 weeks ago, but that definitely could be it.
Thanks for posting. It's so nice to hear success stories! Helps keep me positive. .
