Pregnant after a Loss

Rh negative and CP

I remember getting a Rhogham (sp?) shot after my D&C last September. Do I need to take another shot after my CP?

  • Unfortunately, getting a CP over the holidays isn't ideal....i won't be able to contact my dr until tomorrow. I know I have 72 hours to get the shot...which means tomorrow or Tuesday (the latest) I should get the shot.

We're in the middle of a blizzard to top it all off.  Great timing...

  • I never had them with either of mine and I have absolutely no antibodies. My RE said no after c/p. I trust them 200%.

  • After my D&C I got one, and I'm supposed to get one at 20something weeks this pg. I think when you decide to try again, they'll give you one then, but probably not now.

I'm so sorry for the news.

  • When I went through my CP, my OB had my blood type tested to find out if I needed the rhogham shot.  I turned out to be O positive, so I didn't need it, but it sounded like she would have given it to me if I was.  I am SO sorry to hear about your loss.  *hugs*

  • I'm pretty sure you have to have it. It's such a serious issue I probably would contact my doctor just to find out, there should be an on call number that you can reach someone if you haven't already.

  • Any m/cin the first 12 weeks only has a 1% chance of sensitization.  My doc gave me rhogam in my 7w or later m/cs but not for my chem.  Also, rhogam lasts in the system for 8-12 weeks,  when was your last shot?
