Committing to staying at my parents' house until tomorrow? My mother is going to drive me insane. I'm here because my sister is here from Seattle, and if I go home, I won't get to spend time with her. But she's been off hanging out with friends and her fiance the entire time, so it's just me, my dad, and my mom, who watches what I eat and do like a freaking hawk. So annoying. Please tell me someone else is homesick too.

Re: What was I thinking?
Ugh. I would be homesick if I were you, too. You are such a good sister, I probably would have already packed up and headed home!
Edit: don't know why quoting you was necessary. deleted it.
We came home yesterday from my parents...I probably would have been up for one more night, but H was ready to get out of dodge! My mom isn't the "in your business" type of mom, though. Family is great, but definitely in small doses!
Maybe you and H need to go do some sight seeing or shopping to get out? Go see a movie? We saw "Little Fockers" on Christmas night and it was really funny!

DH went home yesterday. He has to work this week (I don't). I'm just glad my sister flies out Wednesday, so I don't have to feel guilty for leaving tomorrow.
I feel bad saying it, but I feel like my sister and her fiance are so freaking attached. I feel like DH and I have always had a healthy amount of separation. I can spend a couple days away (like this) and enjoy myself. Sis and BIL have to plan to be together every single second. And have you seen the Dinner Party episode of The Office where Michael and Jan call each other "babe" all the time? Yeah, that's them. I have a newfound appreciation for my quiet, cozy home with DH.

Oh man! Without H too? That sucks! I agree though - spending time with people without your s/o is important. I just went to brunch with my gf's yesterday while H stayed at home with MY parents...then my mom invited my grandparents over for lunch and he had to be there by himself with all the old people! But he's cool and understanding like that.
Maybe call up sis and inject yourself as the third wheel to whatever they are doing? Sounds like it would be better to be a third wheel than to be home with your mom watching you like a hawk. Only one more day - good luck!!!

I can only handle my (and MH's) family in small doses. There is no way I would survive staying at my parent's house.
Good luck!

The running joke in my family is that my sis and new BIL don't even go to the bathroom without each other. They do everything as a pair, even work together! DH would drive me insane if I was with him as much as those two are together.
Hang in there BP! It's almost over.
