What holiday tradition do you want to pass on to your DC?
I think this has been asked before but with them quickly approaching I like to think about this kind of stuff.
My mom had a little christmas tree just for me in my room that I could decorate anyway that I wanted to. To this day I love to fall asleep to the glow of christmas lights.
We always took cookies and baked goods to the neighbors.
We always did an angel tree child and it was fun to pick out presents for another child and my mom taught me to appreciate everything I have that way.
Re: Holiday Traditions...
Every year my brother and I picked out a christmas tree ornament. Then we always decorated the tree together. It was always fun looking at all the past ornaments and thinking back on what we were like back then.
Christmas Eve service at church. My mom always made wassail and we would drink it on the way.
Opening one present on Christmas Eve.
My grandma always managed to sneak underwear in there. My grandpa would always trick us into getting really excited over the unopened present, then we would open it and find long johns.
You'd think we'd figured it out after enough years, but those bastards were good.
My family liked to drive around town and look at Christmas lights. That is a tradition we do now that we are married and will continue when the kids come.
My family never decorated sugar cookies but my husband's did so we will keep up with that traiditon as well.
Also opening gifts christmas morning together slowly and taking turns. It's not a dash to just open everything. I"m so looking forward to the holidays with my daughter next year.
