I have an appointment tomorrow and tried to call the office today but I think they might be shut down due to snow...hopefully someone here can help me!
Is this ultrasound vaginal? I will still be on my period.
Someone mentioned here that they had to fast before the blood work but I wasn't told to fast. Just wondering how common that is.
Thanks!
Re: CD3 ultrasound and blood work questions
yes, vaginal and yes, it can be messy.
I always brought along some of those Cottonelle wet wipes (that you can find in the toilet paper area of the store). Tucked a package of those suckers in my purse. It made clean up a bit easier.
and TMI - there was blood dripped down the front of the table - under where my feet were up in the stirrups. gross. Seriously, I'm sure they get that a lot - but I cleaned that up before leaving the room.

The regular CD 3 blood work is not fasting, but they may want to test something that is (like cholesterol)? If you weren't told to fast, don't worry about it but make sure they know you didn't.
The ultrasound is internal. They're used to seeing the blood, don't worry. They will have chucks-- thick pads on top of the exam table. When it's all over just be courteous to wipe up any spillage and throw the pad away. Good luck!
oh, and I never had to fast for the b/w.
maybe whoever mentioned that was having other b/w taken all at the same time that required fasting.
