TTC After a Loss

My clinic is still closed?

Maybe it has to do with the snow....but I've been calling them all morning and all I get is their voicemail saying that 'offices are closed'. Meanwhile their office hours are M-F from 8:30 -6 pm...so WTH?

  • It's probably the snow. I don't know how much you got there but we got about 30 inches here. I asked my nurse when I went in yesterday what would happen with the snow and she said they always have to be there anyway. I was supposed to go in again today but my RE called me at 5:30 to tell me to just come tomorrow because no one could get out anywhere. We're in a state of emergency. If you got anything like that, I would assume that your doctor/ nurses wouldn't be able to get it.

  • They don't have an answering service?? They should - what happens if someone goes into labor and needs to speak to a nurse or doctor? I'm sorry :(

  • I know....this CP could not come at a worse time.  First on Christmas Day, so bc of the holidays I can't get a hold of anybody....and I guess it's really not an emergency situation, either. (although sometimes I think of it as that) Second, the freakin' snow storm has paralyzed the state.  So, yeah, this CP couldn't have come at a worse time.

  • I would guess it is most likely due to the snow.  I am sure a lot of places are closed.  Hopefully, they will reopen later today or tomorrow for sure.

  • Hope it opens soon - My RE's office opens at 8am but their message that they are closed is usually on until 8:45 or later.  Not sure why.

I don't know how willing you would be to, but you can always go to the emergency department. I'm not sure what you're copay would be too, so that is something to consider. I know our ED gets tons of pregnacy issues through them during weekends and holidays (even though our OB/GYN has and answering service, and someone is always on call). A lot of times it's women saying they're having a problem, but they're not an only want to see their baby on the ultrasound. But you're having a legit problem. How much snow do you have there?

We have from 20 to 30 inches of snow.  I managed to shovel out the cars, drive to the supermarket and come back.  I'll call later on today and if they're still closed, I'll call first thing tomorrow......but I could imagine the amount of people doing the same thing tomorrow...so it might be a mad house tomorrow......great.
