I basically threw my hands up this weekend and said, screw it. I didn't do anything bad, stuck with the diet-but the whole, checking 1 hr. after each meal-well with traveling and the holidays, I didn't really eat 3 square meals. In fact, I had a little breakfast early am, then 2 days in a row had a "brunch" at 10:30-which is supposed to be snack time, but then we weren't going to be eating lunch b/c we were on the road traveling both days, but it seemed to early to call it lunch...so I basically skipped my midday readings. Then at dinner, I ate cookies xmas eve, but that was it. So I don't feel too bad, my readings have been a little elevated but given the circumstances, I'm hoping that it will go back to normal when I get back on a schedule. Oh, and then I left my glucometer out in the car by accident and it got too cold and I went to take my reading and it said it was an error. UGH. But then genius me left my glucometer at my inlaws-3 hours away. Luckily I have another one here, but still. C'MON. I'm REAL tired of this GD nonsense already.
Re: GD moms, did you survive the holidays?
I basically had the same weekend, minus the meter issues! I only had one reading above where they want it to be (but who knows since I missed a reading on time). I've been very good outside of the weekend and didn't go nuts, so it's back to the grind as of yesterday. Only 11 weeks or less to go (they will only let me go to 41w vs. 42w now)!
I had a really good couple of days. My readings all day on Christmas Day were fine, as well as yesterday. I had birthday cake and some goodies on Christmas Day and all my readings were perfect.
I think LO is starting another growth spurt though since my fasting numbers the last two days have drastically risen and are on the cusp of being too high. I'm going to wait one more day as per the instructions the endo gave me before upping my Insulin.

I did test (except one night when I was just too tired to stay awake for even an hour) and everything stayed within acceptable numbers, except for fasting. Some of my numbers were a little higher than normal, but still within my allowed numbers. The only numbers high were fasting...it was pretty high above allowed fasting the first morning after not having a snack before bed so I made sure to have a snack going forward. After that, my fasting numbers were lower, but still higher than allowed (often by 1 or 2).
Overall, I was relieved that I could still enjoy the holiday meals (including work party, etc.) and still control my numbers. For the most part, I just added more meat to my plate and took a little bit of the sides that I really, really look forward too. I also had my mom freeze some of my favorite baked goods so that I can look forward to enjoying them in a month or so.
