1st Trimester

Gas Pain

Ok ladies, this new preggo symptom is fairly new for me, but very uncomfortable and painful at times.  Gas pain!  It's in my upper abdomen on the left and sometimes right side.  It kind of feels like a running "stitch."  Any pointers?  I feel like tearing up at times.  When I sit down to eat, I barely take three bites of food or so, within minutes, gas that lasts for hours on end.  I know I'm repeating myself but I am hurting.  Sometimes it's accompanied by a sick to my stomach feeling. :(  It's like I can't eat.  I barely have an appetite as it is. :(

Re: Gas Pain

  • I felt like that for a good month during 1st trimester. I wasn't hungry and my stomach always hurt as if I just ate a ton! Try to snack throughout the day instead of meals and stay hydrated. You can take Tums too. Hope you feel better.

  • Sometimes laying on my left side helped......I have heard that helps it to pass through the body. Good luck!!

  • I get very uncomfortable especially at bed time when I lay down.  I have to keep switching sides to finally get the gas to pass.  I have also her to put your butt in the air and lay down will help it to pass as well.  Tums were a lifesaver with my first pregnancy.

  • Thank you sooo much!  I'll double check with my Ob/Gyn about the Gas-X, I really hope it works for me.  Thank you again.
