Infertility

For those who didn't take Lupron...

What did your RE use instead? We found out during my first and only injectable IUI cycle that I am allergic to Lupron. With my IVF consult coming up in two weeks I am wondering what they might use instead of Lupron.

Re: For those who didn't take Lupron...

  • I've never used Lupron for any of my IUI cycles and I'm not for my IVF cycle, either. I'm on the antagonist protocol which only uses BCP for suppression. As far as stims go, I'll be on Gonal-F and Menopur and then add in Ganirelix.

My RE was concerned that Lupron would suppress me too much...

There are plenty of non-Lupron protocols out there that your RE can use.

Ahhh good to know. I was given Ganirelix for my last IUI after I had the allergic reaction to Lupron, but never actually took it because we triggered after 4 days of stims.

Good Luck to you Madelyn, I really really hope this is it for you!

  • Antagonist protocol, so Ganirelix or Cetrotide will prevent ovulation. Good luck !!!
