High-Risk Pregnancy

Intro...

Hello ladies! Just thought I would introduce myself as I think I will be stopping by more frequently. My name is Lia and I am due in June (15) with our first LO. At 12 weeks, I had my first full exam with the OB where they couldn't find the heartbeat. They asked me a bunch of weird questions about my belly and my confidence in dates and sent me off to the hospital and high risk OB specialist for an U/S. I was diagnosed with fibroids (which I did not know about prior to being pregnant). I've got half a dozen that are as big or bigger than the baby and dozens upon dozens more. I was given a long list of what-if type risks. Baby was measuring small so they adjusted my due date by 10 days and scheduled genetic screening via NT scan and AFP (?) scans. At the NT scan 2 weeks later, the baby was measuring a few days ahead of the new due date with tons of movement and healthy NT results. One low hormone in my placenta that they say can affect the baby's birthweight, but, obviously I'm already being watched for that. Things were really going well for me and I was in denial that this pregnancy was going to be any different than I expected until the last two weeks. I'm a lucky girl with second trimester morning sickness and after an entire weekend of sickness, I woke up last sunday in excruciating pain from rolling over in bed. I was admitted to the ER where they administered an IV did a bunch of labwork and an ultrasound. Baby was again measuring a few days larger with tons of movement and seems to be thriving in spite of it all. I was prescribed zofran for the nausea and told I could take small doses of IB profin for the pain.

Its been a wild ride so far and I know its only going to continue from here. My next appointments are january 14 and 18 where I have my full anatomy scan and will discuss the possibility of bedrest depending on the baby's growth and my own pain management. Its nice to be in acquantaince of all of you. The birth month clubs are fun but its also nice to have a place where people are dealing with more serious issues than hormonal weeping over commercial...

Welcome!  I am not too familiar with dealing with fibroids, but this is a great board.  Good luck to you!  It sounds like it is going to be a long few months.  Hang in there!!
