  • Sorry girls. This poll thing was new to me-haha. I guess just round. I know I was thinking the same thing. In March, we'll be married 8 years. I just put 7 down. Wow, now that I'm writing it, I can't believe I've married almost 8 years!!!It's funny. I got married at 23 and DH was 28. One of the benefits was that we thought we could wait to try to start a family. In the beginning, we used birth control and condoms!! So there would be no accidents. Gave up the condoms pretty quickly though. Once we neared the 5 year mark, we thought we wouldn't try but wouldn't prevent. Never thought I'd be here! Why didn't we start sooner???? UUGGHH!!

  • That's okay... I figured I should round.  Sorry to hear that you put off TTC thinking you had time.  I wish we would've ditched BCP sooner too, but hindsight is 20-20 unfortunately.

If it makes you feel better I think everyone has that thought at some point, no matter how long you have been married. We have been married for 2 years and 2 months and I keep thinking 'why didn't we start trying when we first moved in together (after 6 months of dating)'

This!  We start TTC as soon as we got married, but I now wish we had gotten married sooner and started TTC earlier.  We dated for about 8 years and wanted to finish college and grad school before getting married.  Now that seems asinine and I wish we had just gotten married after college and started TTC during grad schoo.  But like PP said hindsight is 20/20.

  • I remember when my husband would freak out right after we got married when I would forget a pill (I used to be awful at remembering!) and now I think about that $30 we could have saved every month since I didn't really need any help not getting pregnant! I was all for having kids right after we got married, but being the compromising wife, I waited until he was ready...2 years later. Oh well...someday, right? : )
