Has anyone done this for gender selection? Because we only want 2 children, we would really like to have a girl this time. Obviously, I would love a boy too but would prefer a girl. I have heard about this method and thought about doing it but now that OD is quickly approaching, I'm really thinking of abandoning the idea because I'm more concerned about getting pregnant this cycle and am concerned that it would reduce the chances of conception.
Do you guys think this method is legit or just crap? Does it really increase the chances for a certain sex or is it 50/50 no matter what?
TIA!
Re: Shettles Method
Thanks for your response. I figured that it was probably crap! LOL. As I said, I really just want to get pregnant so I guess I won't worry about this method.
I know one person it "worked" for and another that it didn't.
Personally, I think it's total crap. You have a 50-50 shot regardless.
one of the girls in my moms group SWEARS by this method. She lost her first child (daughter) to a heart defect at 8 days old and ONLY TTC using shettles, because she said she can't handle having another daughter.
So far she is 4/4. they used shettles for their daughter, and shettles for all 3 boys.
I have another friend who has tried it. Tried for a girl the first time, got it. Tried for a boy a second time, got it.
The vote is still out for my best friend who is 10 weeks, she was trying for a boy.
I personally want a girl this time around. But if it doesn't happen, we'll TTC one last shot for a girl. So the sex of phantom baby#2 doesn't matter. Pressure is on for #3
