Can you tell me about your experience at the Brigham? Dh and I would be high risk the second time around and are now looking into a Boston Hospital. Any information would help. Thanks!
I had a great experience there. Although not high risk, I did have pre term. I was well taken care. They have a great lactation nurse who was the one who contacted my health ins and told me because I was early, I could get a breast pump free of charge. They were absolutely patient with the breastfeeding teachings. Even the food was good. BWH by far is my hospital of choice, if I have to be in one. I told DH that if I'm ever unable to speak for myself and need emergency care...take me there.
I hope that everything goes well for you and your family. In my opinion, you would make a great choice.
I was transfered to the Brigham when I developed hellp syndrome at 30 weeks. I was delivered by Katherine Economy and loved her. She was really great and explained everything that was going on in the day or so before I had my c-section (so if you are looking for a mfm I would totally reccomend her). She was also just named Best of Boston for Maternal Fetal Medicine. My DD was in the NICU at the Brigham for 2.5 months and I can not say enough about them. They were amazing. I

I did not personally deliver there but my sister had all 4 of her children there. Loved the private rooms w/ DVD. She had a female Dr Richiotti (not sure of spelling) but she LOVED her.
The Brighams has such a great reputation that I purposelly found an OBGYN in the Brighams group before I got pregnant. I plan to deliver there. I have been in the hospital before for surgery(orthopedic related) and my grandmother has been in there multiple times for cardiac related issues and we have always been happy. It is a highly recommended hospital in the area. Good luck!
