Was Santa good to you?

How was your day? Did LO's enjoy everything? What did you get?

Re: Was Santa good to you?

  • Xmas eve was a whirlwind of Buffalo for us-went to my Dads, then my Moms, then to a cousin's house, then to DH's friend's parents' house-didn't get home in Roc until 1030 last night!

This morning we had breakfast here with just us, did our gifts and DD is napping now. When she gets up, we'll go to my ILs for dinner and presents with them.

DD opened some of her gifts-once she opened the crayons and markers, thats all she wanted to do. She still has 3 to open (nothing big) and has had no interest in them so I'll keep them out until she wants to open them! She loves her shopping cart we got her which is good!  DH got me some sweaters, a workout video game, a movie, a gift set from sephora, and an ornament storage thing. All very nice. So far, a very fun Xmas! Enjoy everyone!

We had a great time as well.  Christmas eve DH got out of work around 3ish and then we went to our church for the early 5:30 candle light service.  After that, we came back to my house with my parents and sister and exchanged gifts.  DD recieved so much from them - a rocking horse, a doll that laughs (which she is afraid of at the moment haha!), a bunch of clothes, a spinning top, books, and a musical mat.  We gave her a sled.

Christmas morning DH was already at work, so me and dd played with some of her toys and then I took her outside for a sled ride.  After her nap we went over to my parents for my extended family party where she got the leapfrog fridge letters, musical pot and pans, a smaller doll which she likes, mega blocks, books, and adorable christmas dress that I think I will have her wear next year.

We did DH's side on Sunday the 19th.  She receieved a ton of clothes and bath toys.  Also, SIL made her a cute book with her picture as the main character

  • Hi ladies!  I hope you all had a great holiday!

Xmas eve we went to my parents to celebrate with my family and have dinner.  They went over board on DD and get her wooden blocks, the Fisher Price Puppy, a stand-and-ride toy, and lots more.  DH & I both got gift cards so we can go shopping for ourselves.  I'm planning on getting some nice boots and a new purse...not sure what else.  We also got some kitchen gadgets and new TV trays.

We did our stockings last night and DH got me a Kindle!  I can't wait to play with it.  He also got me the Charlie Brown Xmas tree that I've been wanting, lol.  I love it!

This morning we did gifts with DD.  We got her the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Barn and a toy box.  She also had a gift from one of our neighbors which was this princess castle tent.  It's great.  We went to the ILs for breakfast and exchanged with them.  They reapolstered DH's old little rocking chair for DD.  It's beautiful! (I'm uploading pics on FB right now). THEN we went to DH's Grandparents for dinner and gifts.

It was a crazy few days and DD was a trooper, but very overwhelmed and tired.  I'm hoping she sleeps well tonight!

  • I worked on Christmas Eve until 7,  I came home and dh and I exchanged gifts.  I got a VB  wallet, lunch bag and purse, a willow tree figurine, perfume and 2 pandora charms.

We tried doing gifts this morning but Ethan is sick and miserable. He didn't want to open anything and screamed.  we opened his gifts and he would try to play but then remembered he didn't feel good so he would be miserable.  We skyped with my family which was really nice. Then I went to work from 3-11

  • Busy busy busy..

Yesterday.. I had my tooth pulled at 10am.. worked 12-5:30pm.. Went to my sisters house for christmas eve dinner with them.. The only thing that Eve got there that doesn't need to be returned is the Radio flyer inchworm ride on.. She loves that though.

Christmas: Woke up around 7:30.. I was actaully awake before Eve and couldn't go back to sleep LOL.. but only for like a half hour.. Did presents.. Eve got a BUNCH of stuff from us and Santa.. she wasn't quite as excited or into it as we had hoped but she really loved a lot of her gifts. Her cabbage patch baby and her magnadoodle seem to be the biggest hits so far but not everything is out of boxes yet.  DH got me a portable hard drive, renewed my barnes and noble membership, got me 2 glee CDs and a starbucks gift card..I feel like there was something else I am forgetting too. I got him rockband instruments and the green day and beatles games for it. :)

Then we went to church.. Eve was so stinking funny. Every time the choir would stop singing, even if it was the end of a verse, Eve would yell "YAY!!" at the top of her lungs.. toward the end of mass, they did one particularly strange arrangement of bring a torch jeanette isabella and Eve yelled SO loud at the end, the entire church cracked up laughing, and then APPLAUDED.. not sure if they were applauding Eve or the choir.. but I don't think people normally applaud during mass.

Then we went to my parents house.. Eve got a My First Leaptop (Awesome!) and Alphie from them.. but Alphie doesn't work right so I have to try to exchange him. Which is a bummer because Eve was hugging him and saying "I Love her!"
I got The Glee season 1 dvds and a book and new winter boots from my mom and dad.. and they got us all our explore and more membership (with the reciprocal program)

Then we went to my ILs.. We all got a TON of stuff there like always.. My MIL got me exactly what I asked for.. Maternity work pants, a rug for our bedroom and a "My K-cup" thing for the keurig.. and a few other small things and she got both Jeff and I a new cabinet for our bathroom which we need pretty desperately. I am actually not thrilled with anything they got Eve though.. SIL got her the dora guitar which I knew she'd love.. but pretty much EVERYTHING they got her is DORA.. And they got her a bunch of winter clothes when they KNOW she has a ton of winter clothes.. This is why I made a list and put SUMMER clothes on it.. I don't even think some of this stuff will fit her before winter is over.. its all 24 months and carters which runs big, 24 month carters pants still fall off her.  Eve actually fell asleep there before dinner.. because she hadn't napped and she was exhausted and melting down about everything.

  • We have had a wonderful holiday weekend!

I worked until 1 p.m. on Friday and then my BFF and her DH and 9 month old came over and then my Mom came and we went to the family friendly service at church, which was really nice.  Came home and we made Beef Tenderloin, skin on garlic mashed potatoes and green beans.  Went to bed at 9 p.m. (heaven)

Woke up to finish up the Pioneer Woman Cin. Buns (yummy!) and then Evan got up.  He was so cute, he ran right pass the tree to the window to look outside, as he does every morning.  We had to prompt him to look at the gifts.  He loved his sleds, play cell phone and vacuum sweeper...aong other various things.  DH and I only do stockings for each other and always nice cards.  He got me some Smart Wool socks (love them!), GC to Starbucks and Barnes and Noble, and Godiva.  We relaxed home in our pjs ALL DAY until the evening when we went to DH's cousin's house.  That truly was the best to just rest and relax as a family.

Today my family is coming over.  My Mom is making homemade turkey and spinach crepes...love them!

It truly has been a great holiday filled with faith, family and rest.  I could not ask for more.

  • Our day was awesome! We decided to "downsize" and only go 3 places instead of 5 like last year and it made a huge difference.

Justin got an insane amount of stuff and I'm happy with it all. He was so excited Xmas morning, I think I'll cry every time I watch the video of him dancing around opening his gifts. We didn't get him much but his grandparents went bananas. I'd say some of his favorites were; fur-real pet panda, big set of dinosaurs, thomas train set and his reader thingy. He was so funny opening clothes he'd hug them and say, "pants! oh cuuuuute! Shirt! Oh cuuuuute!" When I sorted gifts last night he had literally a lawn & leaf bag full of new clothes. DH's grandma gave us a very nice cash gift for him to "buy what he wanted but didn't get"... which should be nothing for the next 3 years, lol.

It was a great year for gifts for me, I don't think I have anything to return really. Lots & lots of gift cards, a coach purse & wallet, spa certificates, maternity clothes, a moby wrap, a new nursing cover, a bunch of kitchen gadgets... all kinds of fun stuff! We got clothes for the new babies too which is great but the NB stuff looks soooo small, it's was a reality check for sure, haha.

What ornament storage thing did you end up going with?

I got the snapware one from amazon, but the bottom tray came broken on it-not sure what DH is going to do-I want to keep the "good part" and see if I can get more levels to snap on (do you know if they sell them individually? DH didnt see them sold that way-we need more to fit all of our ornaments!).

  • We had a busy, but good holiday.  We started on Thursday with a Christmas with my FIL and step-MIL.  It was nice considering they're separated but we're doing holidays all together.  They bought J the leapfrog table, lots of clothes, and some other random toys.  On Christmas J woke up early (boo!) so we did our Christmas.  We didn't buy J much, a toy box/ottoman for the living room, and a couple of other toys.  We got to my parents at 10 and did presents with them and my sister, BIL, and niece.  J got a Vtech train walker toy, books, clothes, My Pal Violet, and a learning kitchen.  Then we went to DH's grandparents and saw his dad, grandparents, and Aunt and Uncle.  There she got gift cards, a sock monkey, and a shape sorter.  Then we went to DH's mom's.  There she got a cube with toys all around it (except the wood was cracked so it has to go back) and a drum with instruments inside, a busy ball popper, and car keys.  Poor J was so tired and fussy but she did pretty well with seeing so many people. DH and I got quite a few gift cards, some cash, a bread machine (yay me) and an autographed Giants jersey (yay DH) plus other random stuff.

Today we took down the tree and are cleaning things up so that we have room for the toys

  • Sounds like everyone had a wonderful holiday!  We did too!

Christmas Eve was spent at my parents' in Buffalo.  We went up around noon so Eva could open her gifts before we headed to mass.  My mom went overboard as usual but I won't need to buy Eva any clothes this year!  After mass we had dinner and then drove home.

We spent Christmas day at home just the three of us.  It was so nice and relaxed!  Eva was really into Santa and Christmas this year so it was really fun.  She was ecstatic that Santa brought her the floor lamp she had asked for plus she loves the easel and paints.  I made a yummy breakfast, had snacks out all afternoon and then made a fancy dinner.  I also managed to unpack and put away all of our gifts plus do all the dishes!  I feel like I got so much done!  I didn't want to let everything sit out because Eva's birthday is Tuesday so I know there will be another round of gifts to sort through then.

  • We won't be doing our own Christmas until we get home, so Ian hasn't gotten his big presents from us yet (an art easel and set of dinosaurs). So far I've gotten a gc from my MIL to get me closer to a Nook, and some little things from my other in-laws. Ian has gotten a couple sets of tools, a couple garbage trucks, and a soccer goal (which I think is more for DH than for Ian). I just hope we can get home tomorrow since they're expecting a lot of snow down there while we hope to be traveling.
  • Hi ladies!  We had a really nice Christmas, but it has been a huge marathon of family GTGs and it's not over yet, so we are exhausted.  Christmas Eve we went to SIL's and Zoey was completely spoiled by MIL and DH's relatives and had tons of fun playing with her cousins.

Christmas morning she actually slept till EIGHT which is unheard of (she's usually up by 5:30-6:00), so being able to stay in bed was a nice treat for me.  When we came downstairs to open presents, she was more excited about eating the cookie crumbs and leftover carrots on Santa's plate - LOL.  It took about 10 minutes until she would give up that plate and actually start opening gifts.  Crazy girl!  But once she started, she got into it and was excited.  We also hosted Xmas brunch at our house which was crazy, but fun.  Zoey got so much new stuff that I have no idea where I will put it all.

Today we saw FIL and more of DH's family for brunch, and then my brother, SIL, and neice get in from Texas late tonight, so we have to celebrate with them tomorrow and Tues in order to fit everyone in.  So, these past few days have been nice, but exhausting.  I can't wait till later in the week when we can actually just unwind and relax in our own house without having to go anywhere.

  • We had a great few days, not incredibly busy which was nice.  Christmas Eve is the big holiday for my side of the family, so we went to my Aunt and Uncle's and opened presents, Rosie got a lot of cute Melissa and Doug playsets- a cupcake one and a pizza one.  We spent Christmas morning at our house, Rosie got a baby doll and stroller and a big Little People car ramp that she asked Santa for.  My parents weren't here, but they got Rosie a tiny grand piano, which is hysterical.  All day she kept telling us we were her audience and that she was going to give a concert.  She would sit down, bash her hands on the keys for a few seconds, then get up and give a bow.

My DH's family came over and gave Rosie an easel with tons of art supplies.  DH and I went very low key on gifts for each other this year, so I got a warm sweatshirt and socks.  My IL's spoiled me and got me a Nook, though, which is so, so great.  My cousin, totally unrelated got me a B&N gift card, so it's been put to very good use!

Then my aunt, uncle and cousins came here and we had a huge Christmas dinner.  I got to meet my cousin's 6 month old DD, which was awesome.  Rosie was really adorable and good with her, and wasn't at all jealous.  All in all, a great holiday!

  • We had such a nice holiday.  I miss my family terribly at the holiday time, but it is also really nice to have a quiet holiday with lots of time for just the three of us.

DH's office was closed on Friday, so he got up and took Gavin out for donuts for breakfast.  We started cooking while he was napping, and ate a delicious early dinner.  Then we headed to church with a friend, came home and opened presents from one another and Gavin opened gifts from us.  I got a pedicure foot spa, some tennis shoes, a vest, and Gavin picked out the cutest cow onesie for the baby.  It is the first thing we've gotten for the baby, so that was really special.  Gavin and I decorated a few fresh cookies for Santa, then after he was in bed, DH and I made MrsZoeB's cinnamon rolls for the next morning.

On Christmas morning, Gavin was super excited about all the gifts he opened. He got all the Toy Story movies, and we've watched the original like 5 times since then I think.  Lots of trains, a vintage John Deere tractor that he keeps sleeping with, and games, to name a few.  He's so cute to play Candyland with!  Looking back, I wish we'd gotten him a couple bigger items that we could have spent more time playing with on Christmas morning.  I felt like we were getting him so much, but when all was opened I wish we'd done a little more.

We spent Christmas and the day after organizing.  We bought a new shelf for the toy room and spent a lot of time in there, then went through all my maternity clothes and organized the closet.  It was so nice to have DH's help!

I'm glad to read that you all had a nice holiday, too.  Can't believe it's already come and gone!

  • I'm late to this post....

We had a lovely, simple holiday.  K got home last Wednesday so all I've really wanted to do is snuggle on the couch and hang out with Jelly Bean.  We spend most of Friday finishing up some shopping and running errands.

Christmas was lovely.  We help Jelly Bean unwrap her gifts even though she just found a spot under the tree and wanted to sit there and watch things.  After nap time we open some champagne and made brunch.  We never left our pjs all day - it was heaven!

On Sunday we were supposed to have some family arrive but their flight was cancelled.  So we cleaned the house and then went to dinner at Abba's to exchange Christmas gifts.  It was fun thinking back to last Christmas when we were both just pregnant ladies waiting for our LOs.

Now it's back to work :-p
