**MadForever**

How are things going? I know you were having a rough couple of days. Have things improved? I hope so! Those first weeks are so tough, and I received SO much help/support on this board. Vent anytime!

Re: **MadForever**

  • Things are okay. It seems like every morning (even though I'm only getting about 5-6 hours of broken sleep) is a new morning and that is when i have my burst of energy. I look forward to my coffee and starting laundry and getting organized for the day. But by 9:00pm, I want to run for the hills. I really think this board and venting really does help keep me sane.  Every three hours when i come out to pump, I hop on my laptop and lurk for a bit. It's nice to know at 3am thta there is another MoM probably doing the same thing I am.

Im super excited because my mom was supposed to come and stay with me the week the boys got home but her work wouldnt allow it so she got this upcoming week off. So it's like i'll get a little break. I think im gonna let the hubbs have the break though cause he has to go back to work and needs to be able to function. i need to start forcing myself to nap during the day.

How do you make yourself forget about the other daily duties (housework) and relax when the babies do?

  • I remember feeling the same way about nighttime, but around 7-8 a.m. I'd be like, "OK, I'm giving up on attempting to sleep (my boys slept horribly from 2 or 3 till 8 a.m. the first 4 months); it's a new day!" Hang in there!

  • Glad to hear that your mom is coming. Having an extra set of hands is so nice.  And moms are so helpful....I swear my mom always has a calming effect on the babies.

Hang in there. You have a great attitude. Tackle every day as it comes. Day by day, hour by hour.

As for putting aside the other daily duties....I am not the best person to ask. I have a toddler, and I truly was not able to "sleep when the babies sleep". I am also pretty anal, and am constantly doing laundry or cleaning. With another child at home, I just felt I had to do it to keep everything in order. But honestly, if I didn't have another child, I think I could have just put the babies down for a nap and gone to be myself.
