Remember me worrying over if getting the American Girl doll for Korra was worth it or not?
100% WORTH IT.
Korra, my little Chatty Kathy, was speechless when she opened her American Girl doll up, and then she sqealled and screamed like she won the lottery!

I had made her & her new doll matching flannel nightgowns for Christmas, and we had to force her to finish opening presents before she could go change herself & Kit

I had also made her and the doll another matching outfit (I'll have the girls model them later and get pics). We pulled out a vintage doll trunk I had scored at a yardsale earlier this year, and made it Kit's trunk, for all her clothes, accessories, and Kit, herself. As we laid in the Kyoko dress, the outfit she had came in, and a handmade outfit my mother had gotten her, Korra lamented on how Kit will need more than 3 outfits and one nightgown. Unthinking, I told her I'd knit her up a cardigan tonight, and we'd design and sew another dress tomorrow with some flour sack fabric my grandfather had sent me.
Yeah... I think Korra took it as we'll be making an outfit a day over Christmas vacation. ![]()
As I tucked her and Kit into bed tonight, Korra says to me, "Mom, Kit is going to love all the new clothes we're going to make her while I'm off of school!"
I'm almost done with the February sweater for Kit. Anyone want to come and help me sew?
Re: A PIP Story:
Seriously I'm a total dork but that first pic just brought me to tears! I hope I can bring Addison that much joy with something she wants one day! It was TOTALLY worth it!
LOL @ the clothes you'll be making. I'll help!
