Mother hummer the pain. I'm sobbing when I feed her on that side. I've been doing the warm compress and am always having her start on that side. Anything else to help? How long do they typically take to go away?
I would avoid the nipple shield if at all possible as it's likely to create as many problems as it solves. If you're not squeamish, use a sterile needle to very carefully open the edge of the blister. Sounds terribly gross but it will go away a lot faster. Also this is the best nipple cream out there, IMO. Lansinoh was crap in comparison.
My big boy is bounding towards 4! Baby brother coming in October!
I really liked Gerber Breast Therapy. I also found that putting breast milk on my nipples before and after nursing helped them heal faster. Putting it on before also helped ease the pain in the beginning of nursing.
It's a bit better today it still hurts but not the OMG THIS HURTS ALMOST AS MUCH AS LABOR pain I had yesterday. I've been soaking it in Epsom salt before nursing per kellymom.com. I know the absolute best thing I can do is have the kiddo nurse but I have to brace myself each time!!
Oh my goodness. YES. It hurts so much. Everyone had great advice and it sounds like you are doing a great job. hang in there. Mine went away in about 3 days? It was quicker than I thought.
Re: Milk blisters? Have you had one?
lansinoh cream will help.
