If it's a difficult decision, are we not ready?

DH and I are going back and forth about TTC right now. There are many good reasons to go ahead and do it, but there are many good reasons to put it off for a year. I know everyone says, "there's no perfect time to TTC" but I feel like the decision should be easier to make than this, and maybe it means we're not ready yet. The decision to go ahead before had been easy. . . why is it so hard this time?

I would almost argue if it's not a difficult decision, it should be discussed again. TTC is a Big Deal, and not to be taken lightly. If you'd be happy and your husband would be happy with a positive pregnancy test and can imagine happily welcoming a new baby into your house next fall, then I say go for it. If it causes more anxiety between the two of you than happiness, than hold. But it's life-altering, so shouldn't it feel a little hard?

Honestly? I'd hold off. If the decision to TTC before was an easy one, there's a reason this time it isn't as easy.

When I say it was an easy decision, I mean we just knew it was time. Right now we're not so sure. We definitely know we want another baby-- and would happily take one at any time-- but we are stuck on the timing

We are having the same issue. We had decided on February but are now second guessing ourselves. We would just wait but it's important to us to have our LOs close together. We'll continue discussing it until we both feel comfortable with it. But I kinda wish that I was less knowledgeable about my cycle so I could have an accidental pregnancy make the decision for me. But I've been charting to avoid since DD was born with no accidents.

My belief is that it might be harder to think of # 3 than of the first 2.

With the first baby there is so much excitement and wonder etc.

Then with the second baby you want to give them a sibling and you know how rewarding it is, plus you are still not outnumbered.

With the third, you know how much work it was wrestling 2 babies at once, plus you will now be outnumbered by children, and I think that could make it a little more intimidating?
