Does brand really matter? I am currently taking Origin (Target distributed brand I believe). I am running low and am wondering if I should switch to something else, or does it really not matter? What do you take?
I don't know if brand matters probably not. I am taking CitraNatal Assure because my insurance pays for it and it is cheaper than buying over the counter. I also like that these don't upset my stomach and they have a stool softener in them.
ETA: Even though my prenatal has 1mg of folic acid my RE still wants me to take an additional 1600mcg (1.6mg) of folic acid so I take two additional 800mcg pills of folic acid each day.

My RE said you want prenatals with 1000 mcg of Folic Acid, and most OTC kinds only have 800 mcg. Walgreens carries a prescription generic with 1000 mcg that costs around $20 for a 3 month supply (without insurance). My insurance only covers 30 pills at a time, so it is cheaper to pay OOP.

I take a prescription kind verses OTC. My doc says it has a higher amount of Folic Acid and I do have insurance coverage so it's cheaper than OTC as well. I take Necon.

I take the Target brand as well. My RE said anything with a minimum of 800 mcg of folic acid. I like the fact that they have 2 different sizes of pills and gummies too. Last time, the pills were so big, it was hard to take them, even with a lot of water.

that's what I am finding! they are huge. I can get them down okay but there's gotta be something earlier. I have seen gummy versions and was thinking about getting those. I have gummy multiVites and I like them. thanks everyone for your input!
I take GNC's "Prenatal Program". It has 1000mcg of Folic Acid plus DHA and extra calcium. It doesn't upset my stomach but you have to take the DHA with food or it has that nasty fish taste.

I recently switched from Target generics to Whole Foods 365, with an additional DHA. More vitamins, less filler and dyes. Prescription prenatals that I've seen are more pricey and actually have less in them than the WF brand, and my RE is fine with the content.
