Um... that's kind of poor timing...

There was a huge water main break that is affecting half the county, including where I live.  We are lucky to have water (very low pressure), but now they've posted a notice to boil all water.  After I've been chugging it all night.  And I really want a shower because I worked all day and didn't wash my hair last night.

Poopy.

They said you're supposed to boil water for 48 hours AFTER they fix things.  Which is... um... all day on Christmas??? And maybe on Sunday when I'm supposed to have a really big party at my house?

I guess it's definitely one of those things we take for granted. And, I'm kicking myself for not having several gallons of water in my hurricane kit because the last few hurricane seasons haven't affected us at all (so I don't have a well stocked kit).

BUMMER :(

  • Start boiling now?
  • Loading the player...
  • I'll be honest, this is one time I'd probably go to the store and get some bottled water...  jugs, not individual...  yup...  I'm lazy.

  • I believe we're out of the affected area (?).... so come with huge jugs to our house & fill up!
  • Oh no! What are is affected by it? I wonder if my dad or gma are? Geez that really is bad timing. I wound boil now and also buy some water if you plan on going out today. I do hear ya on thre hurricane box. Since we moved to Clermont we don't even have one but I need to get in gear. We've been real lucky but we don't know what next year will bring.

From my understanding, it's the area below Bellair Road (in Largo?) - Seminole, Largo, Pinellas Park & the beaches in that area that are affected.   I think my area (just east of Pinellas Park - near the Howard Frankland Bridge) is safe (*crosses fingers that I'm understanding it correctly from what we've seen/heard on the news & web).

Haven't spoke to my father yet but he's in Golf Port and the rest of my family is in Pinellas Park and Seminole. Yes very bad timing for that to happen.
  • we had one for a few days this summer - huge break for all of boston and most of the metro. area. huge pita! i couldn't boil enough to use for everything - it went on way too long for that. There were drop offs of water in town where if you had kids under a certain age or elderly persons living with you you could get two gallons per day or something. I hope they fix it for you soon!
  • Oh man. I hope it's fixed soon.
