Merry Christmas! 3 more days....(vent)

Until my ILs leave! I love my in-laws, but they have been here for two whole weeks almost and they just take over the house. FIL is constantly repairing things, digging through closets looking for things to do, and MIL has taken over the kitchen, laundry room, and cleaning. I love the help but I hate not feeling at home in my own house. I hate feeling like I am not the hostess and it's my house. They are also treating me like I am handicapped since I am pg and I hate that. It annoys me. And they are constantly giving opinions on EVERYTHING. Down to how I clean the bathrooms. We have a lot of cultural differences too, so they never like what I cook and won't say anything but it's obvious. They also are commenting on everything that needs to be done and taken care of around the house before baby, but unlike them (MIL has never worked except a short time as a cleaning lady and babysits occasionally) DH and I both have full time jobs and don't have time for that. To make matters worse, DH has been working this whole week and I have been off since I am a teacher, and I have had to deal with this alone all week. DH also told them the baby names we were thinking of and of course MIL scoffed at the one name I really love. Whatever, it's our baby and we will name him/her whatever we want. I just need some alone time! I used to be sad that we moved so far away from our families when we got married, but every time we get together I am so glad we did it. I can't imagine having MIL around 24/7 when the baby is born getting in my business and judging how I raise my child and how I take care of the baby, which I know she would. Sorry for the vent...I just need to get away!!!! And I get to to this all over again next weekend when we go to L.A. for New Year's and then again for two weeks in January when they stop back here on their way back from L.A. to celebrate DH's 30th bday. Ahhhhhhhhh....save me.

Anyways, I am off to try to get in the kitchen to finish my cookies and shower before church. Love you girls, have a wonderful Christmas!!!

    They're still THERE?!?  Ugh.  I've been reading your updates about their crazy excessive cleaning & intrusiveness...I didn't realize they hadn't left yet!

    Hang in there...it's not much longer!  Hope you still manage to have a Merry Christmas.  :)

    You are at the end of the marathon.  You can make it.  It could be worse--they could be my inlaws who put dirty dishes into my cabinet and I won't even go there with the state they left the guest bathroom.

    I don't know how anyone could stand 2 weeks with their inlaws! You are a trooper Ashley! Just a little while longer and you will have your life back!
