This is a place for any of you who are experiencing the world of azoospermia.  Whether you were recently diagnosed and are trying to make sense of it all, or you have started preparing for IVF or IUI, or have decided instead to move on to adoption.  Please join in the group by posting! Check in is on Thursdays.

Learning that the chances of having a biological child with your husband are slim to none is not easy, and is, frankly, devastating news.  This check in is a place where we can share how we are coping (or not) with our new realities, provide information we've learned through investigating our options, adjusting our lifelong dreams and plans, and dealing with the situation.  

I'd like to extend an invitation to those who have been fortunate enough to experience pregnancy, childbirth, and/or adoption.  Ultimately, all of us desire to create a family.  The experiences and insight of those who have reached that goal will be quite helpful to those of us on that road.

    QOTW: We are spending Christmas Eve with my ILs and then on Christmas day we are driving to Tahoe to spend a couple days with my parents and siblings.

    Update: DH has his biopsy on Monday - he's been off work all week and just laying around and icing round the clock. He hasn't taken any pain meds today, so I think that's a good sign! The doc said he saw a lot of scar tissue from DH's previous surgery as a teenager that may point to an obstruction, but we won't know the results of the biopsy until January 4th. Hopefully after the 4th, we will be able to either move on to donor sperm if no sperm were found, or make a decision on moving forward to try to fix the blockage. The doc said he can fix the blockage, we have to wait at least 3 months and it's a 2-3 hour surgery.

    QOTW: I can't scroll down far enough on Yellow Daisy's initial post so I'm not sure what the question is, but for Christmas we are traveling to my gma's house tomorrow afternoon (about 2.5 hours away) and then to DH's family in the afternoon on Christmas day (another 2.5 hours of driving). We are hoping for good driving weather! Merry Christmas!

    My previous user name was Babytime25, but took sometime off, so can I please join again.  Sorry I went MIA for a while.  I just needed to re-think our plan of action and had a miscarriage which discouraged me from ttc, but I'm back now and we have an appt. with a new RE on December 30th.  I can't wait for a new plan for the new year. 

    My husband was dx with unexplanined azoospermia. We went through 3 IUI's with donor sperm, one with success, but ended in a miscarriage. 

     Congratulations to all of you that had BFP's recently and congrats on all the new additions.  It really gives me inspiration to keep on trying and I realize how lucky I am to have a support group like this.  Good luck to everyone in 2011. Happy Holidays!!!

    Update: Beta #1 was 321 yesterday and I go back in tomorrow morning!

    QOTW: We are going over to DH's parent house to celebrate with his mom, dad, sister, her husband and Nana. We've kept our BFP a secret from his parents, so I am really looking forward to telling them! My SIL doesn't get along with either DH or I though, so this should be interesting!!

    update- my status up above doesn't seem to have been updated in a while, but iui #5 was a bust so we've moved to IVF.  i've been on BCP for a couple weeks now and start Lupron tomorrow!  

     

    What are your holiday plans?  we actually started them a bit early and have been in VA visiting with my dad this past week.

    QOTW:  We're having breakfast with DH's bro, wife and our niece and nephew tomorrow, having dinner with DH's sister and fam tomorrow night and then spending Christmas Day with my fam.

    Update - going to be doing more testing and seeing a hematologist to get to bottom of m/c's.  we'll most likely do a FET in the Spring

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    Kuleama- Congrats!

    Nothing to report for us- although I bought DH a book, https://www.plasticcupbook.com/ 

    I put it on his nightstand and he has now been reading a good half an hour and laughing.  It is a guys point of view of MFI, and infertility in general from a guy that has been through it.  I thought it would be good for DH to know a lot about the process going into it all. 

     

    QOTW:  We had my parents over tonight for dinner and then we exchanged with them.  They are going to my brother's tomorrow and we are headed down south to my IL's until Monday.

    Update:  I am going to POAS tomorrow!  Hoping we get a great Christmas present but trying not to get hopes up too high.  We've got 3 more vials of our DS to try with before we reevaluate!

    QOTW:  We are on Long Island to celebrate.  We have Christmas Eve at my mom's, and then Christmas with my whole family at my sisters!
