Anyone else feel like they can't consume more than about 500 calories or so without feeling sick? Whenever I indulge lately, I feel absolutely horrible afterwards. Yesterday we went out for FIL's birthday. What I ate was unhealthy and high-fat, but I really did not have that much of it. Far less than what I usually eat at a sit-down restaurant. Afterwards my whole belly area just felt tight and uncomfortable, and that lasted for at least 2 hours. Then I woke up twice in the middle of the night feeling like I was going to throw up. I didn't, but I came pretty close. I felt better this morning, and I also think part of the problem was that I was constipated, but is that much discomfort normal? Any advice other than to eat smaller, less fatty meals?
Re: feeling sick after eating?
Yes, me too. And it doesn't matter if I'm eating the healthy stuff or the not-so-healthy foods. I've felt uncomfortable after eating for a few months now. The only thing that really has helped me is just as you mentioned... smaller meals. I also try to move around a bit and stay on my feet or sitting up after eating as I feel it gives LO less opportunity to squish up against my stomach making me uncomfortable. If I eat too close to bedtime then I get the horrible nausea that leaves me awake for hours. Good luck and let me know if you learn any new tricks to combat it!
I can't even eat anymore. I get starving so I try to eat something and it feels like I am forcing food down my throat yet I am still hungry.
I can take liquids down all I want but eating is a different story. My body just doesn't want to do it. I am hoping that this won't be the case for tonight's Christmas Eve dinner and tomorrow Christmas dinner. I was so excited for the holiday meals!
