My biological parents are lame.

Well, my dad specifically. My mom.... well, that's a whole other post.

But my dad is usually pretty reliable. He lives in Nashville so we only see him a few times a year but he was supposed to be here for Christmas (only from the 24th to the 26th, but hey, we take what we can get). He just texted me (yup, texted- not called) to tell me he "will stay here" (Nashville). He had mentioned last week that the weather forecast was iffy up there and he didn't want to "white-knuckle it 800 miles there and back" in the snow, but had been planning this trip for months. Now he's just not coming.

So, absolutely no Christmas with my biological family. Lovely.

that sucks! i'm not seeing any of my side of the family either. dh's side pretty much hogs any given holiday. so i feel ya! :-(

That sucks.

My parents are coming, after initially saying a flat out no. My IL's, however, decided not to come (Well, FIL makes these decisions... don't get me started) because they are predicting 'measurable snowfall'. Apparently travel is only acceptable when it is bone dry.
