Babies: 9 - 12 Months

no cry sleep solution....

I know this has been asked tons of times, but I just started reading the book and really like what the author has to say.  Has anyone else used her methods, did it work?  Did you like it?

Re: no cry sleep solution....

  • We use some of the methods in this book.  I really like it.

It took a week or two to really establish routines but once we fined tune them and everyone got used to them they really helped us.

I like that the book is flexible rather than one size fits all.

  • We used it at 7 months and DD was STTN in 20 days. For me it seemed like a validation of all the feelings that I had about sleep training. I just wanted to figure out the reason why she was getting up so often, there were patterns to it, and after charting and looking at different methods to soothe her I figured it out. Everyone told me to let her CIO. We let her CIO for 2 hours and finally my DH went in and gave her an 8oz bottle of formula (she was formally EBF) and she slept till morning. Come to find out that she WAS really hungry and not just getting up out of habit, the BM just wasn't cutting it at night. We went from her getting up 4 x a night to once. Now she goes down at 7pm, wakes 1x at around 4:30am, then goes back down till 7:00am.  And sometimes she doesn't even get up at 4:30am. Considering she used to get up every 2 hrs, I consider that a blessing.
  • Thanks for the responses girls!  My DD will only fall asleep if we rock her or giver her a bottle and she will not sleep in anything but her infant seat (which we have in her crib) so we are trying to get her to sleep in her crib (without the infant seat) and to sleep without needing to be rocked.  We tired CIO for a bit one night, but it is just not right for us.
