So I was online and I saw a post on the Duran Duran site that John Taylor would be answering questions on FB chat for 30 minutes. Now, John Taylor was my official first love.
When I was 11 years old I saw the Hungry Like the Wolf video and decided that boys weren't that icky after all- or at least JT wasn't. Anyway, I decided to post a question, assuming that I would not get an answer. I've tried to post questions during celeb chats a few times in the past, but there are always too many. Well he ANSWERED mine! OMG, JOHN TAYLOR answered my question! I was so excited, I almost threw up! Here is the exchange:
Me: Hi John! Which bass players have influenced you, and which modern bass players impress you today?
John Taylor: I was just listening to Sam and Dave.. I love Donald 'Duck' Dunn..
John Taylor: modern.. er.. I'm so UN-modern in my music tastes, sorry
Me: No prob! You've got to love the classics. Thanks!!
*SIGH* Isn't he dreamy??? *SWOON* OMG, what I really wanted to ask him is "Why are you so gorgeous?" and "Will you marry me?"
Hey, it sounds silly, but other Duranies will surely understand. Actually, anyone who has ever had a crush on a celeb can relate. It was just so cool to get to communicate with him after admiring him from afar for 25+ years. Thank you, John Taylor, for making great music, reaching out to your fans, looking hot, and making this lady's heart go all a-pitter-patter like a teenager again. ![]()

Re: nbr Any Duranies out there? I had a slight brush with fame today...
MY John????? MY John?????
lol
Sooooooo freaking cool.
This Duranie in NJ just swooned. I got to speak to him years ago (on set of the Tony Danza show, which my cousin's husband produced and got them on to promote Astronaut) and my heart melted. I wish I had his autograph. I have Simon's and Nick's.

SWEEEEEEET!!! I was a HUUUUUGE Simon fan.
It's the little things
I have a DD Avatar....so you could say I am a fan!
JT was first love, and I still love him. Not many gals can say they have had the same crush for...oh, nearly 30 years (yikes....am I that old? I have loved him since I was 11).
I finally met DD in 2007 when I was newly pregnant with my older daughter (CD signing at Best Buy). I waited in the Chicago cold for 3 hours. I told John I was pregnant....I had to share the news. HA HA. They were all awesome. I am giddy just thinking about it.
