Had my baseline today...

and I have about 20 antral follicles. Does this sound like a normal number? My RE seemed to think it was high...so he is increasing my Metformin.

DX: PCO, ENDO, High NK, MTHFR
8/10 = Lap to remove Endo

2 Femara TI, 3 Follistim IUI = BFN & 1 c/p
IVF #1 - BFP - boy/girl Twins!

    Sorry I don't know. My RE, either one never told me about my antral follie count. I am asking next time.

    I always have a lot, I think i had around 20 last month too.  They just have to start me stiming on the lowish side and monitor closely.  So far it hasn't been an issue, I have only had 1 or 2 dominant!

    They told me at my first monitoring appt last cycle that I had "a lot of untapped potential".  I was like, really, we are going to think about IVF potential when I am in the middle of an IUI I would really like to hope will work????  Gee thanks.

    Dx PCOS 2003/high fasting insulin/clotting issues DH Dx with low sperm count, motility and morphology. Varicocele repair (11/1/2010)
    2/2011 - Confirmed no improvement - On to Donor Sperm
    4 failed IUIs in 2010
    IUI#5 and 6- with DS, BFN
    Final IUI - Lucky #7! IUI with DS - 20.Jun.2011 - 21.5 mil motile! Not so lucky - BFFN and the end of our IF journey....
    Waiting for our family to be complete through Adoption - May 2012 - Hoping our baby finds us soon!

    This would be a great count if u were doing IVF...but maybe high for IUI?

    Ive never done an IUI, but i had 16 for my IVF...which was good.

    This was the baseline for IVF -- I guess I'm just curious as to why my ovaries are considered 'polycysitic'. I thought 20 was a normal number....maybe on the high end of normal??
