They said it was common with 2 and that i may have this through out my pregnancy ?  It was bright red and mucousy - I am on hormone support so i get the mucouspart  but so much bleeding.  Had U/S  Both have grown and their lil hearts a flickering away  so scary!

They also say the pain i am having is round ligament pain -

Re: prego with 2 @ 8 weeks anyone experience

  • At 7 weeks I woke up at 4 AM and felt something dripping down my legs.  I went to the bathroom and there was blood everywhere.  I knew I had twins from a 5w6d u/s so I was instantly worried that I was losing one of them.  I went to the doc that AM and was diagnosed with a large subchorionic hemorrhage.  Luckily with 3 days of super strict bedrest the bleed stabilized and I had no further issues.

If you had a SCH they should have seen it on the u/s.

Bleeding is never normal and is more common in multiples.  Bleeding anytime before 20 weeks is considered a threatened miscarriage - of which 50% miscarry and 50% have successful deliveries.  I don't mean to scare you; it's the reality.

Hopefully for you it's some irritation of your cervix or a very teny tiny little SCH.  Mine was "huge" and I have two very healthy chunky babies now.  Take it easy; now is not the time to run or exercise heavily (hopefully your doc told you that).

Keep us posted!  Tell those babies no more trouble!!

  • I had a little bleeding at 16 weeks, nothing prior to that. And it only lasted an hour and was mild, nothing like yours. I still went in and they couldn't find anything wrong, both babies were/are fine and no explanation as to why there was bleeding. The OB said its not "normal" but doesn't always mean there is something to be concerned about. It hasn't happened again since..

Good luck and wishing you a healthy rest of your pregnancy, take it easy!

  • I had bad bleeding at 7w. I thought for sure I m/c'd but everything was fine. My RE said I had a blood pocket (whatever that is). It reaborbed itself after a few weeks.

GL to you. I know any type of bleeding is scary

  • What kind of doctor are you seeing? If you're not seeing a peri/MFM, you might consider it. I would worry about any doctor that told me bright red blood was normal, and my understanding of RLP is that it normally occurs a little later in the pregnancy, even for multiples.

Glad you saw good heartbeats. GL!

  • I had bleeding at about 10 weeks, right after my DH and I were intimate, and I immediately lost it bawling.  I had a m/c immediately before I was pregnant with my girls and my mind went directly to possibly losing these two.  I turned out ok, but I was so nervous and paranoid until I delivered.
  • I had LOTS of bleeding from 8w to 10w from a SCH (bright red and heavy for the first week, then it tapered off to spotting). I put myself on bedrest and pushed fluids, which helped (I'm not really sure if fluids do anything, but I was desperate to feel like I was doing *something*). It was very scary and upsetting, though. After 10w I didn't have any more bleeding, but I was pretty careful to take it easy and my MFM kept me off exercise, walking stairs, etc for a good chunk of my pregnancy.

    ((Hugs)) and hang in there!
