2nd Trimester

25 Weeks and having menstrual like cramps.....

So I've been having a pretty bad back ache for the last 2 days. I think that its from sleeping on my back for the whole night on Monday. I know that its not good, but i have carpal tunnel in both hands/arms/fingers, and it only bothers me when i sleep on my side. My hands and arms will go completely numb, EVEN with the braces on. The doc said that it would probably go away after the pregnancy.

Well, i started having menstrual like cramps this morning. They arent anything i can handle, but its making me a little nervous. I called the Docs office this morning and they said to come in to check my urine....i guess to see if it could possibly be a bladder infection.

Have any of you had any cramping? Is it something to worry about or is it pretty normal?

  • I would be worried, but I tend to worry about things a little much. However, I know a number of people who had this problem and the contractions were caused by a UTI or dehydration, so hopefully that's all it is for you and it's a quick fix! Keep us posted.

  • I have cramping on a pretty routine basis- it reminds me to drink more water.  I've had no UTI or complications and at times I do fall asleep on my back.  Don't worry for now because you are going to the doctor.  In the mean time, relax as much as possible!

  • I should have read today's posts before I just posted about cramps oh well. I had cramps for 4 hours nonstop today and the doctor sent me to L&D since it is a sign of preterm labor (and I have delivered early before). They checked my urine and monitored me for contractions which all looked fine. They also checked to make sure my cervix was still closed which it was. My instructions were to go home rest and drink fluids. If you keep having cramps make sure you call your doctor because they might send you to get checked out.

  • Turned out to be a UTI. I'm super relieved that its nothing more serious. They said that EVERYONE has been coming in with them lately.

    Thanks ladies :)
