So after about 24 hours of absolute nail biting and guilt and freakout - the radiologist that did my follow up ultrasound today basically told me there is nothing wrong - thank heavens.
The genetic counselor that called me last night basically told me the baby has cleft lip/palate and could have serious mental retardation, trisomy 18, etc etc etc. As you can imagine the last day has been a rollercoaster. While I would love my baby any which way, it was so hard thinking there might be something wrong.
I just think the Kaiser folks could do a better job of not freaking pregnant women out when it really could be NOTHING. Last time I was pg they told me I was having twins and then called 2 weeks later and left a voicemail on my machine saying that they were wrong and that there was a "problem with the transducer" that it was doubling the image. Really? Twice now they've given me faulty u/s information. Crazy.
Thanks for letting me vent on here girls.
Re: Had the Follow up U/S - Kaiser vent...
Thanks girls - I appreciate the support.
I too have Kaiser and they suck! It's like pulling teeth to get any information immediately. I am sorry they put you through this and I would call customer service and file a grieviance about it. It should be documented since they document your health record. I seriously had to do this recently and I am the type to let it go, not this time. The best part of the redo is everything is okay with baby.
I have my 18 week NT (part two) testing/labs today, so I just hope I get some info on the spot due to K's policy of sending it to the genetics MD. I wish my MD would do the testing but NO Kaiser wants to make money off of it (naturally) and I'll have to wait 1-3 weeks for results, ugh so frustrating this time around too!
